But Nicole had long outgrown the age where she would teel jealous. If she had been found ten years ago, she might have felt upset. She might have thought that as Heidi’s real daughter, Monica was taking the love that was supposed to be hers.
However, Nicole had been through enough hardships in life. She could hardly keep track of all the struggles she had been through.
Now, even the smallest bit of effort from Heidi to make amends was more than enough for her.
Heidi cooked several dishes and a soup, and her style of cooking was much like Nicole’s. The food was beautifully plated and full of nutritious, healthy ingredients.
Monica happily brought everything to the table. She carefully set each dish in place before snapping several photos with her phone.
As Heidi approached, Monica said sweetly. “Mom, I want to post this on my Instagram. This meal is made by the best mom in the world!
Heidi shot Monica a look “Since when did you become so spoiled?

Nicole glanced around and sat across from them.

She recalled everything from her childhood trips to the zoo with Heidi to how they couldn’t bear to be apart when she went to elementary school. She even brought up the first pair of custom–made high heels worth tens of thousands of dollars that she received for her 18th birthday.
Monica was so excited that she didn’t give Nicole a chance to speak.
With each story Monica told, Nicole could clearly remember what she had been doing at the same time.

Monica looked a little pitiful at being interrupted “What’s wro
‘s wrong, Mom? I just wanted to help Nicole understand as better.”
“Nicule don’t necessarily want to hear about the past, Let’s just eat, okay? Heidi said. “Don’t say anything more.”
Monica opened her mouth to retort but saw the displeasure on Heidi’s face. She had no choice but to lower her gaze and reluctantly continue eating.
After dinner, Heidi tomed to Nicule, “Nicole, if you want to go back to school, you have my support.
“But I would like to help you find a better university, one that’s more suitable for your further studies. Is that okay?
Monica was just about to leave when she heard this and immediately became unsettled.
