Chapter 87
The campus forum had been quickly removed of all the heated posts that had been causing an uproar,
The school had issued a public statement that disciplinary action had been taken against the students behind those posts
They explained that they were just trying to ride the wave of attention. They had overbeard rumors that one of Wilson’s students was involved in plagiarism. Luusa was the top scorer in the first round of exams, so they figured it couldn’t be her.
That was when they began posting accusations online calming that Mia had plagiarized. However, Wilson had suppressed the matter quickly, and their attempt to stiropabuzz tell that
Later, a video of Luma arguing with Russell outside the girls‘ dorm when she left Wilson’s team went viral. They sensed another chance for attention.
However, the posts mysteriously disappeared almost immediately after being uploaded. They tried to appeal but were told the content violated platform rules. They didn’t dare post again, as they were scared of being investigated by the school.
Both events formed a complete narrative. Aside from the fabricated motive of merely seeking attention, there was no solid evidence to disprove their story. However, they adamantly denied being paid to post. The school couldn’t find any evidence to prove otherwise, so the matter could only end there. The school had punished them and made them publicly apologize to Mia and Luna.
The school also released a statement confining that Luna’s laptop had been infected with a virus not long afterward and that her thesis paper had been stolen. Their preliminary findings suggested that the incident was the work of a hacker. The hacker was targeting all of Wilson’s students. They had even found traces of a cyberattack on Wyatt’s and the others‘ laptops.
The hacker had successfully breached Luma’s system due to her laptop’s weaker security settings. No one else experienced any file loss.
Wilson also confirmed there was no evidence of plagiarism, although their papers focused on similar topics. He urged everyone not to believe in baseless rumors.
In short, they claimed that Mia had nothing to do with Luna’s paper being stolen. The plagiarism accusation against Mia was officially deemed a false rumor
A faint sneer curled at the comers of Luna’s lips as she read the announcement on the school’s website.
She posted the original draft of her thesis on the campus forum that night while the school’s statement was still fresh in everyone’s mind.
She then pulled an all–nighter, revising and refining her paper before submitting it the next morning to one of the most prestigious medical journals in the country. With that, she then collapsed onto the bed.
It was already attemoon when she opened her eyes.
Jade had brought her some food. “You’re amazing, babe! You have to check the school forum!”
Lana yawned. “What drama again?”
Mia out ever since you uploaded your original draft. They had been asking her to upload hers. Everyone’s saying it’s
“It’s still about you People have been calling Mi wayton coincidental Jade smiled slightly.
“Why was it only your laptop that got hacked, and of all the things, your thesis paper that got leaked? Plenty of people took the second–round exam, Why is Mia’s paper the only one that looks similar to yours?
“Tons of people are questioning the taimess of Professor Hanley’s selection process. They demand that Mia upload her paper and let everyone judge for themselves. Let them decide who’s better.
a rumor spread by paid trolls? Why were you the one
“Some are even pointing this out. They asked why were you the one who got hurt if the plagiarism was just an who had to leave the team while Mia walked away unscathed and still got to stay?
“Don’t Professor Hanley and his entire team still owe you an apology?”
Luna got up and went to wash her face, trying to clear her head. “I never wanted an apology from them.”
What she really wanted was something they couldn’t afford to give.
