Chapter 57
I ignored Tina, that foolish woman. My gaze remained fixed on Agnrs and she was staring at me with a similar look of surprise on her face. She probably hadn’t expected to see me here
either.
“Adella.” The words left her mouth still sounding dazed.
I got over my surprise quickly and put a small polite smile on my face as I made my way to
her.
“Hello, Agnrs.” I smiled. “Fancy meeting you here.”
Agnrs didn’t say anything for a while before she eventually smiled. “Likewise.”
Tina who had simply been watching me this whole time, let out a snort. It seemed she had
already played out an entire drama in her head where I was thrown out of my home and
left to wander the streets.
“Tina.Stop your imagination. My family and I are doing just fine.” I said curtly, not bothering to even extend my politeness to her. She didn’t deserve it.
“Same here.” I said, my tone curt and precise.
Tina was someone who would do anything to get a reaction out of you. She wasn’t even trying to hide how she felt about me or maybe pretend for a few seconds that she didn’t
despise me.
Too bad, that was really her problem. Not mine. I turned to Agnrs who was watching all
that was happening in silence.
“Did you come here for the interview as well?” I looked at the building.
“Oh, no,” she laughed, “I own this place.”
That made me pause. She owned the company I’d just finished an interview at. I could feel the nerves already starting to eat at me. If she owned this place, it meant the decision of whether I would be given the job was up to her.

She seemed to notice a bit of the conflict on my face. Before I could react, she stepped forward and put a hand on my shoulder.
“I was told you just finished your interview. I believe the interviewer was beyond impressed.” She smiled.
My brows went higher. “He was?”
She nodded, “He was indeed. I believe you’re on your way home now?”
“Um…” I took a glance at the building before turning to her. “Yes, actually, I guess I’ll be waiting for the results of the interview.”
“Waiting?” Agnrs scoffed. “What’s the point in waiting? That’ll just be a waste of time.”
“I don’t understand.” It was hard denying that I felt confused by what she was saying. She didn’t want me to wait for it? There was a kind smile on her face as her eyes remained fixed
on me.
“Congratulations, Adella. You pass the interview.” She said finally.
I held my breath, running the words over in my head as many times as I could. It felt good to succeed at this I aimed for and this success was no less than the others.
I’d gotten something else that I’d been after. I focused back on Agnrs who still had that kind smile on her face.
“Thank you so much.” I extended my hand to her. She looked at it for a second before happily taking my hand into a firm handshake.
“I look forward to working with your establishment.” I continued, unable to hold back my smile.
Her smile never wavered. “I look forward to having you here.”
Tina had a dirty look aimed at me. Like I was simply doing too much. But none of that was my business. I had gotten what I wanted and she could go suck it if she was so miffed.
“I hope to see you at work tomorrow.” Agners said.

“Definitely.”
With that, I waved her a final goodbye before heading to my car. The drive home was silent, save for the sound of the music that filled the car. I let myself relax to the smooth music playing.
As soon as I got home, I hurried out of the car and made my way into the house as quickly as I could. Most of them were lounging around in the living room. As soon as I entered the room, their attention turned to me.
“I did it. I got the job!” I said, unable to control my happiness.
Merhold looked surprised when I said I got the job. I noticed Greyven turning to look at him. suspiciously. My other brothers were also looking at him with the same expression on their
faces.
They quickly turned back to me, their faces lined with smiles. Olavir stepped forward and pulled me into a hug.
“Congratulations, Adella.” He smiled. “You have no idea how proud I am.”
“Thank you.” I closed my eyes, letting myself relish in the warmth of his hug.
Suddenly he pulled away. Halven had pushed him to the side roughly and then wrapped his arms around me in a surprisingly gentle hug.
“Congrats on finding a job so quickly. You really are such a smart woman.”
It’s that time again when my brothers shower me with gifts. I helplessly spread my hands, waiting for their offerings.
