Chapter 33
to continue.
Lance took a sip of his wine. He then shifted his gaze from the scene downstairs to Soten, silently urging him to
Soren recounted Tara’s words verbatim. After he finished, he wore an amused smile, clearly intrigued. Tara now suited his taste perfectly.
Lance remained silent for a long while before saying, “With her level of awareness, it’s not surprising that she rejected Jasper.”
“Not long ago, we both saw how she acted toward us. Then, there was that incident with Jonah. She changed really quickly.”
He was planning to find a moment to ask Tara why–despite her appearance, family background, and social standing matching or even surpassing theirs–she ha rejected Jasper so decisively when she had previously flirted with them.
Without saying anything. Lance lowered his eyes, lost in thought.
In the living rooms downstairs, Tara took the umbrella from Shawn and placed it on the umbrella stand.
Her work uniform was soaked from the rain. The soft fabricclung to her back, outlining her alluring figure in a way that made it hard for anyone to look away.
Shawn’s gaze lingered on her for a few seconds before he took off his suit jacket and draped it over her shoulders.
The sudden warmth left her frozen in place for a moment. She instinctively looked around at the suit jacket draped over her.
“Mr. Wilhelm? She turned around, looking at him in confusion.
“You should change into another work uniform,” Shawn suggested gently,
Tara suddenly realized how wet her back was, and the fabric hugging her body didn’t seem appropriate,
She nodded nervously and was too embarrassed to meet his gaze,
“Thank you, Mr. Wilhelm, Once the jacket has been dry–cleaned, I’ll bring it back to you.”
Shawn smiled, though the faint redness in his ears had long faded
Tara hurriedly returned to her room and checked herself in the mirror. With her clothes in that state, she looked irresistibly tempting-
Her face flushed, but at least only Shawn had seen her like this. Otherwise, it would have been really embarrassing.
Tara quickly changed into another work uniform, placing Shawn’s suit jacket in the dry–cleaning area. She wrote his name on the label and placed it on a hanger.
She was busy at the fruit bar, preparing a fruit platter to be delivered upstairs to the band members
Stella placed the platter on the cart. Without asking Tata who was going to deliver it, she pushed the cart away from the fruit bac.
Tara didn’t show any emotion. She just wanted Stella not to be able to read her. She preferred to have fewer tasks, especially when it came to jobs that required getting close to the band members.
As it neared the end of her shift, Tara went to clock out. She was stretching her neck when she heard Hetty crying-
She stopped and quickly ran ahead, pausing at the corner of the hallway.
A few steps away, betty was a crying mess in front of Terence. Her words were muffled by solis; even from close by, it was hard to hear her clearly.
it’s all any. Mr. Daldry, I can’t po…
Tata couldn’t make out her words and couldn’t walk over either, so she just stood there anxiously. What had happened? Why was Betty crying so hard? Termer sighed. “I’ll find coudrone else for this. Just be careful in the future. Don’t blame yoqmelt,”
hetty nodded Hanagh her sobs. Once Terence lll, the heartbroken betty saw Tara and can into fergus. She was crying uncontrollably
