Chapter 132
Natalie’s face was tense, her eyes could shoot icy glares. What a shameless jerk! She wanted to kill him.
She calmed herself down, took a deep breath, and gave him a smile that didn’t reach her eyes. “I could never be as sly and deceitful as Mr. Luther.”
Darren corrected her, ‘All’s fair in business. It’s called blending in and adapting on the spot.”
Natalie chuckled. “You sure know a lot, Mr. Lanther.”
“I’ll take that as a compliment,” Darren felt completely at ease. “Feel okay about losing?”
She hadn’t clearly stated the rule against borrowing the principal, so she couldn’t blame him for exploiting the loophole.
“A bet’s a bet.” Natalie was bold enough to gamble and accept her loss. “The bed’s yours, I’ll take the floor tonight.”
She said this while stepping out, her demeanor confident and straightforward.
Darren narrowed his eyes thoughtfully as he watched her leave. It amazed him that Natalie was able to earn 60 thousand dollars. In stock trading, luck might bring some small returns, but big gains like that? Only someone with real skills could manage it
Natalie started with just around 30 dollars, and in these quick trades, precise insights are key. Turning a mere thirty into several hundred times more in just two hours isn’t something luck alone can achieve.
She’s talented in stock trading, and her track record could even match his. If he hadn’t borrowed that 166 thousand as starting capital, he figured his earnings might have been the same, and he couldn’t be sure he’d win against her.
Darren thought, ‘How does this gentle and docile ex–wife surprise me one after another after our divorce? What is her true background…?
In Darren’s deep, dark eyes, emotions surged and roiled before finally calming down.
The two of them walked out one after another.
Just as they stepped out of the stock exchange center, someone called from behind, “Mr. Luther! Mr. Luther, wait a
moment!TM
In no time, the person caught up to them.
Hank smoothed his hair and chuckled, “Mr. Luther, my mentor found out you’re in BurgCity for a show. He insisted I invite you for dinner tonight at seven. The restaurant is booked, and we hope you can join us.”
“Mr. Chance is in BurgCity today?” Darren asked as soon as he heard.
Hank nodded cagerly. “Yes, he’s here. He mentioned you recently and when he found out you were coming, he was really thrilled.”
Darren didn’t respond but instead looked at Natalie. “Wanna go?
“Why ask me?” Natalie shrugged, seeming exasperated. “No, the invitation’s for you.”
“Come along, Darren grasped her wrist, pulling her back. “Tll show you around”
“No way,” Natalie refused again, without even trying to hide her sarcasm, “Watching you eat kills my appetite.”
Darren looked at her little face and chuckled, “Can’t take a loss?

“Not at all,” Natalie replied.
“Skipping dinner to secretly cry later?” Darren teased persistently
Natalie found him annoying. “I said no.”
“Then join me.
