Chapter 21
“We never qualified for the competition because only Rhett and I are enrolled in the university. But now that we have you, we can sign up if you’re interested!” Smiling, Suzie added, “Just tell us anything that comes to your mind. Rhett and I will help you.”
Luna pursed her lips. “I’d love to join the competition, but I haven’t thought of an idea. I’ll think over it!”
Suzie pulled out her phone. “Let’s sign up while you mull it over. Rhett can come up with the idea–he’s full of innovative ones.”
As they spoke, Suzie signed up for the Medical Innovation Competition and put the team together. Suzie, Luna, Rhett, and Erin formed a team of four.
Right after Suzie set up the group chat, she immediately informed everyone that she had signed them up for the competition.
Luna was shocked and delighted at Suzie’s decisive action. She had simply dropped a casual remark about joining the competition, and Suzie immediately made it happen!
No matter how the competition would go, Suzie’s staunch support had touched Luna’s heart. “Thank you, Suzie. I’ll think of a great idea. I won’t embarrass the team!”
Smiling, Suzie replied, “Sure. Rhett and I will ride on your coattails!“.
With that, Suzie left, leaving Luna struggling to contain her bursting feelings.
She knew Suzie’s remark was a joke. She had just changed her major and had to start over again -there was no way Suzie and Rhett could ride on her coattails!
It was impossible not to be touched by Suzie’s actions. Not only did she not look down on Luna, but she also continuously encouraged her.
Luna felt enveloped in warmth after a morning with Suzie. She had never received such kindness from her five seniors back in Wilson’s team.
At the same time, she felt happy for leaving Wilson’s team and eventually picking acupuncture as her major!
Luna turned around and made her way to the cafeteria. Just then, messages popped up in the group chat Suzie had created.
Rhett wrote, “Whose idea was it?”
Luna bit her lip and replied, “It was my idea. I’d like to join the competition. Is that alright?” “Do you have an idea?” Rhett replied almost instantly.

Luna narrowed her eyes, and suddenly, an idea flashed across her mind.
In her past life, there had been a groundbreaking step in acupuncture that happened after the competition.
The idea had popped up in Luna’s mind when she was in that medical consultation with Erin. However, she was unsure if their team was capable of pulling it off. Hence, she didn’t share it with Suzie when Suzie had asked about ideas for the competition.
But now…
After some hesitation, Luna sent out her idea to the group chat.
“It’s the surgical application of acupuncture.”
A short silence ensued, and it worried Luna. She wondered if she’d receive their support.
Right when she deliberated on sharing more, someone bumped into her shoulder and snatched her phone away.
It was Russell.
He glanced down at her phone. “What are you staring at? You look serious.”
Luna quickly grabbed her phone back. “It’s nothing. Why are you here?”
“Duh! I’m at the cafeteria to grab a meal.” He shrugged. “Come on. Let’s have lunch together. We bought your favorite foods.”
Luna paused in her tracks. “How did you guys know I’m going to the cafeteria?”
“Mia texted us in the group chat when she saw you heading here.” Russell reached out to pull
her along. “She was worried about you when you didn’t reply her text. She didn’t want you to be affected by the online comments, so she told us to console you.”
A smirk appeared on Luna’s face.
