Chapter 19
Unlike Luna, who was being mocked and attacked online, Mia was basking in glory.
Everyone congratulated and praised her after the release of Wilson’s official announcement and the support shown by her seniors.
Snarky comments, if any, were drowned out by more congratulatory ones. No one scolded Mia at all.
As Mia was riding on her great mood, she texted Luna.
However, Luna would only see her text the next day, as she had shut her laptop after checking the online forum and buried her head in her books.
Luna had written down a lot of notes. She had a few questions that she planned to ask Suzie about later.
She took her phone when she was about to leave the dorm, and that was when she noticed Mia’s text.
It read, “Luna, don’t take the online comments to heart. I have trust in your capability. Even if you change majors, you’ll still do well! All the best!”
Luna clicked her tongue. She could sense Mia’s bitchiness even from across the screen. Mia couldn’t even fake the humblebrag better.
After some deliberation, she replied, “Will do!”
She couldn’t entirely ice Mia out, or she would lose her opportunity to investigate Mia’s plagiarism. The more Mia acted out, the more likely she’d slip up. It would then give her a better chance to shine a light on the truth.
Luna made her way to the library and was surprised to see Suzie there early in the morning. Suzie quickly handed her a cup of sweetened coffee. “Down this and chin up!”
“Why would I need to chin up?” Luna blinked at Suzie in confusion. “I’m happy to see you, really!”
Her serious demeanor made Suzie chuckle. “Oh, you’re so adorable.” She couldn’t help but pinch Luna’s cheek.
This was a first for Luna. No one had pinched her cheek before.
She shyly blushed.
Luna had always been reserved and unsmiling. Some had praised her for being cute, but most of the time, her seniors praised her for her obedience. Perhaps, her obedience was her best virtue, and the reason they were willing to befriend her in the first place.

Suzie grabbed a seat with Luna and said, “Let me know if something’s bothering you. I can lend you a listening ear, but just this once. Don’t ever be bothered by those messed–up comments online.”
“But I’m not bothered at all!” Regardless, Luna felt touched and teared up. “I know everyone’s waiting to see me make a fool of myself, but I believe in my
choice.
“Suzie, I don’t have time to be sad!”
At that moment, Suzie felt nothing but respect for Luna.
In truth, they had started paying attention to Luna when she’d made a name for herself two years ago. Erin had even privately gone through Luna’s exam papers and her theses, which had been published internally.
At that time, Erin had commented, “What a great talent! It’d be a shame if she worked for Wilson!”
That was why Erin had taken Luna under her wing without hesitation at the hospital that day.
She was shocked but not surprised by the events that unfolded later on. After all, she had ordered Suzie to keep an eye on Luna after hearing about the online rumors of plagiarism.
Suzie had her doubts about the actual plagiarism culprit. After she had gotten to know Luna, on top of reading through the comments on the online forums, she had reasons to believe that the plagiarism claim was real.
Perhaps Wilson wanted to cover up the incident to save his dignity. He might have even blamed Luna for exposing the truth.
One could only imagine how much injustice Luna had to deal with.
Feeling sorry, Suzie patted Luna to comfort her. “You’re right. Wallowing in sadness is not going to help. We need to shut them up with facts.
“Come on. Ask me any question!”
