Wyatt and the group looked through the outpatient and inpatient departments. They scoured the entirety of the hospital grounds but could not find Luna anywhere.
“Wyatt, are we still going to look for Luna?” Mia panted in exhaustion, her makeup nearly smudged by all the sweating. She rested her hands on her knees and stared at Wyatt with a fragile look.
Wyatt suddenly felt sorry for the poor Mia. Her face was flushed from running around.
“We’ll stop looking. Why don’t you take a seat? I’ll get you a cup of coffee.”
Mia reminded Wyatt of Luna when the latter had first joined their résearch team. Back then, Luna was a sophomore.
Since she was a transfer student from a rural college, her medical knowledge wasn’t as solid as her other peers. As such, Luna was not among Wyatt’s candidates when he’d first decided to put together a research team.
However, Luna was strong–willed and worked hard. Not only that, she looked pretty docile and listened well to him.
Luna could complete a task with perfection once she received the instructions, sparing Wyatt any worries.
Because of that, Wyatt willingly cared for Luna and treated her like a sibling.
At first, he’d thought that they would get along as team mates, but he felt aghast when he learned about her crush on him. How dare a countryside bumpkin fantasize about him?
Mia showed up at that point in time. Compared to Luna, she was a better match with Wyatt i terms of family background, and she was the campus belle at that. Besides, she maintained good grades in medical school too.
But most importantly, Mia was understanding and a barrel of laughs–way more personable than Luna, who was always serious and stuffy.
Although Wyatt had never considered making Mia his girlfriend, he didn’t mind using Mia to ward off Luna’s advances.
With that in mind, he started paying Mia more attention. However, he had never expected this action to break Luna, who eventually accused Mia of plagiarism.
At that moment, Wyatt decided to be hard–handed. After all, Mia was an innocent victim who got implicated because of him.
In truth, Wyatt did not plan to retaliate against Luna after that incident. Even if she’d tried to embarrass him with the medal, he would forgive her out of consideration of their past

relationship. He’d care for her like a sibling as long as she followed him around like a good mentee, just like in the past.
However, Luna had crossed a line this time. Not only did she threaten to quit the team, but she refused to take his calls too.
If so, then she shouldn’t blame him for being heartless!
Wyatt called everyone on his phone, asking them to come back. He then handed them the coffees that he had bought. “Stop looking for Luna. If she wishes to quit the team, just let her be!”
He wondered where Luna could go after she quit Wilson’s research team. She wouldn’t actually join Erin’s team, would she?
Erin’s team was researching a niche topic. Surely, that wouldn’t employment after graduation. Did she want her career to suffer?

Russell, however, felt saddened. “Wyatt, aren’t you going to ask Luna for her thoughts?”
“Knock yourself out if that’s what you want!” Wyatt’s patience was worn thin. He turned around and headed back to campus.
Trevor patted Russell on the shoulder. “We can’t ask Luna any questions because we can’t find her anyway. If you’re really worried about her, you can talk to her in Professor Hanley’s class tomorrow!”
“That’s right. She exited the group chat and gave us the cold shoulder. Even if we wanted to talk some sense into her, we have no way of doing that!” Kevin placed an arm around Russell’s shoulders. “I’ll go with you to look for Luna tomorrow, and I’ll be sure to teach her a lesson! “I can’t believe she’s learned to ghost us! It drives me mad!”
Meanwhile, Mia sank into deep thought as she sipped on her coffee.
Why couldn’t they find Luna, who was definitely at Holistic Traditional Medicine Hospital? Was she deliberately hiding from them?
What was that supposed to mean? Did Luna really wish to leave the research team for good?
Mia couldn’t figure out what was in Luna’s mind. But nevertheless, this situation played out in her favor.
It was only a matter of time before she won over all her seniors–as long as Luna stayed away and stopped fighting for attention in the research team.
Once that happened, Mia knew she could lay claim to everything!
