Abigail’s expression instantly turned icy at Blair’s words.
She stared at Blair with a grim expression and sneered. “What now? Are you two secretly dating each other? Is that why you’re so desperate for me to step aside?”
Blair remained calm even with her provocation. Instead, she smiled and said, “You seem quite skilled at making baseless accusations and twisting things around. You should be careful when speaking in front of investors in the future. You wouldn’t want to offend prominent figures because of your foolishness.”
The tension between them was palpable.
Abigail’s gaze shifted to me as she sized me up coldly before she said in a lowered voice, “Ms. Shepherd, my husband is loyal and devoted. He wouldn’t easily accept another woman. Let me give you a piece of advice, you should give up as soon as possible.”
Her words pierced into my heart deeply like a knife.
It felt as if she had slowly sliced my heart and forced me to display my bleeding wounds in front of everyone.
I breathed heavily and looked at her intensely.

She stared at me intently before suddenly smiled and said gently, “Samuel, you truly are something. I haven’t even agreed to the divorce yet, and you’ve found someone new.”

I took a deep breath and tried to regain my composure before I raised my eyebrows as I looked at her with a faint smile and said, “Are you saying that you’re allowed to have your flings, but I’m not allowed to do the same? So you’re the only person who gets to break the rules while I’m expected to stand by in silence? How perfectly convenient for you.”
I purposely said those words to provoke her.
Wasn’t this a game of determining who could be more ruthless and shameless?

I refused to utter a sound even though her grip was pressing against the old injection marks on my wrist and causing me to feel a sharp pain. We simply stood there, locked in a silent battle of wills.
She forcefully shook off my hand and looked at Blair with a dark gaze as she said coldly, “You have no idea what kind of man he is. He’ll ruin you eventually if you stay with someone like him!”
