Chapter 7
Caspian’s unusual attention and affection didn’t make Elsie think twice. She was too busy basking in the happiness he was giving her.
After all, his kindness toward her had always been for the sake of the child, and he had never allowed her to flaunt their relationship so openly.
Seeing how spolled she was now, all the people who had once looked down on her were soddenly eager to win her favor.
“Elsie, with Mr. Bellwether spoiling you like this and the baby inside you, it seems like becoming Mrs. Bellwether is only a matter of time.”
“Yeah, Elsir. If you really become Mrs Bellwether, don’t forget about us!”
with her friends‘ praises, Elsie’s attitude grew more and more arrogant. She stuck to Caspian like glue, even more so than before.
at was only through this clinginess that she began to notice something odd. Every night, when she fell asleep, Caspian would drive to a villa on the outskirts. And every moming, he’d come back with a cold expression.

Herosity got the better of her. She couldn’t help but ask, “Caspian, what do you do at the villa every night?”
Casplan shot her a cold look “Don’t ask questions you don’t need to know the answers to.”
To him, she was nothing more than a surrogate carrying Shannon’s child, not someone deserving of answers
But women had an uncanny intuition. The more he refused to tell her, the more suspicion gnawed at Elsle.
He went to that villa every night. She could think of no reason other than another woman that could possibly draw him there.
The thought of him keeping a woman there made Elsie’s blood boil. To have captured Casplan’s attention, that woman had to be no simple threat.
Now, she was about to become the coveted Mrs. Bellwether, and someone was trying to talu her place? That was practically a death wish!
Elsie was about to go to the villa, but then stopped herself.
Although Caspian pampered her, he had his limits–one of which was not allowing her to go to places he forbade
Her friends, however, weren’t in concemed. “Elle, you’re going to be Mrs. Bellwether What place could you possibly not go to?”
with her friends pushing her on, Elsie found herself convinced. She led the group to the villa
At the villa, Shannon was asleep, but she was roused by the sound of voices and commotion outside.
“Caspian’s been here every day. I’m going to see what’s really hidden in this villa!”
The bodyguard looked at her with a frown. “Ms. Backer, Mr. Bellwether said that no one can enter except for him.”
One of Elsie’s friends retorted, “What do you mean no one can enter?”
“Do you even know who Elsie is? If you don’t let her in, Mr. Bellwether will have your skin for this!”
“Yeah, what a blind dog!” one of her friends added.
Elsie snorted. At the last party, someone had accidentally scratched her face, and Caplan had ruined that person’s life in an instant. Now, a mere bodyguard dared to stop her? Unless he no longer valued his life.
After some hesitation, the bodyguard finally relented and let them in.
As the door opened, the first thing Elsie saw was a face that looked almost identical to hers. She froge, rooted to the spot.
“My god, Elsie! She looks just like you!
“Looks like? I think she might’ve had surgery to look like you.”
“I bet she did!”
Elsie’s eyes narrowed. Before Shannon could even say a word, Elsie slapped her hand across the face.
