Chapter 34
Julian suddenly recalled that he had received a call from Estelle at the scene of Susan’s accident
Things weir chantic at the time, and he didn’t have the luxury of answering, so he simply declined the call,
Now, with that thought in mind, he redialed her number.
The phone rang and rang, but no one picked up.
When the call finally disconnected on its own, his frown deepened.
He called again, but there was still no answer.
Was she ignoring him on purpose? Was she giving him the cold shoulder because he had hung up on her earlier?
Zachary had always said that women shouldn’t be spoiled too much Julian believed he had been too indulgent with her, so much so that she thought she could keep up with this kind of attitude.
In the ward, Estelle’s phone buzzed on the nightstand.
However, she was already fast asleep.
It wasn’t until the following day, when she woke up, that she noticed the missed calls on her screen.
Her lips curled into a cold, mocking smile. Without a second thought, she put the phone back down
Half an hour later, there was a knock at the door.
A group of uniformed traffic officers entered. They were there to investigate the accident,
Estelle recounted everything as it had happened.
“I was making a turn when the other can suddenly came speeding toward me without slowing down at all.”
One of the officers noted down her statement before asking, “Ms. Summer, are you certain the other party hit you and not the other way around?
Something about their wording struck her as odd.
She narrowed her eyes. “What? Is the other driver denying it?”
In accidents like this, responsibility had to be determined.
The officer didn’t hide the truth. “The crash happened in a relatively remote area. There were no surveillance cameras, so we don’t know who is responsible yet. We need to collect statements from both drivers fic,”
“Is she also in this hospital?” Estelle asked.
