POV 

“Let’s stop for ice cream.” I cried out, tapping my hand repeatedly as I stared at the ice cream place in front of us. 

We were currently on our way home and the sun was extremely hot. 

Of course, I couldn’t feel it because Air Con was turned on, but still 

We had finished school quite faster than I had expected, and no I didn’t want to be going home earlier than I wanted. 

It was going to be filled with awkward stares from the members of Silas family and Maria trying to end my life. 

None of his Mata members had done anything to try and harm in the past few days, unlike before. 

I didn’t forget that my father had asked me to find something in Silas‘ main office and each time I thought about that, my heart dropped. 

How was I supposed to do something like that? 

And it’s been a few days since the ball, so Father would reach out to me soon. 

I wonder what he would do when he found out I didn’t do as he said. 

And Silas 

What would his reaction be if he found out about it? 

I wasn’t certain, but for now, I was going to forget about the fight for power between them and focus on what I had now 

And that was Ice cream. 

“Silas…” I whined, tapping my foot impatiently as we drove by the shop.. 

I stared out the window as the building reduced in size with each passing minute. 

He wasn’t going to check it, he was just going to drive by. 

“Nooooooooo, I cried out, my voice too tiny to belong to a twenty–four–year–old. 

It was moments like this that I could forget things and just be free, and I was happy about that. 

“Stop behaving like a child,” Silas scolded not taking his eyes off the road. 

I turned to glare at him, my eyes squinted with my lips pulled into a pout. 

“You could have just stopped for us to pick some up and leave; we didn’t have to eat it there,” I whined, glaring at him. 

A few weeks ago and I wouldn’t even have tried to talk to him this way I was certain that if I did, my head would be rolling 

For some reason, ever since I agreed to be Silas‘ sub was given a bit more freedom around the house, and then I’ve been acting this way. 

I didn’t hate him like I used to, but I didn’t like him either.

Chapter 57 

It was undeniable that Had gotten a bit closer to him, and he didn’t scare me like before. 

I wanted to ask him if he hated me like he did previously, but I didn’t have the mind to. 

But again, what are the chances he would hate me but still want to fuck me.. 

Wouldn’t that be crazy? 

A question came to mind, and each time it did, I wondered about my sanity. 

When we get intimate, does he see me as his niece or just Katrina? 

Does the fact I was his enemy’s daughter and also his dead wife niece freak him out? 

I shouldn’t be thinking about things like these, but I was. 

He could hate Marcos for all I cared for, but me… 

Most definitely not. 

He wasn’t allowed to hate me. 

The more he hates me the less my chances are for survival. 

And the more I act this way, the fewer reasons he sees to hate me. 

I was easy. 

All I had to do was to prevent doing anything that would have my head rolling, which included doing what Marcos had asked me to do. 

Suddenly, the car swerved sideways, and I gasped, grabbing onto my seatbelt with my heart beating at a million miles per hour. 

Tires screeched behind us as Silas turned the car around, ignoring the traffic and horning cars. 

Another car screeched to a stop right in front of us, the car a few inches away from ramming into us. 

“Silas!” I screamed, covering my head with my hands. 

My heart raced in my chest as I thought of the possibility of getting killed because of his recklessness 

And Silas seemed to be okay. 

He clicked his tongue, his hands still on the steering wheel as he turned to stare at me. 

“You’re still alive,” He said, pressing down on the gas pedal. 

His eyes were dark as he drove forward with his eyes still on me 

“Watch where you are going,” I screamed at him, seeing my life flash before my eyes. 

Cars hanked as they swerved to avoid ramming into us, their drivers cursing at us. 

At this point, I was certain Silas was going to be the end of me. 

Rolling his eyes, Silas turned his attention back to the road, swerving off to the other side of the road. 

I watched as people stopped their cars suddenly, a few seconds away from ramming into each other.

Chapter 57 

“You almost caused an accident!” I gasped, breathing heavily as he turned the wheel with professionalism. 

We were going back the way we came. 

I wanted to be upset and act mad about his lack of consideration for people. 

But his grip on the steering wheel and the way he turned it wiped my brain clear. 

I couldn’t think of anything else but those fingers wrapped around my throat and them inside me. 

And in an instant, my anger evaporated. 

“You’re staring,” Silas stated and I snapped out of my daze, my earlier irritation coming back. 

“How could you do that? And out of the blue at that… What if 

“Was I supposed to set up a billboard that said I wanted to turn at that point?” He asked sarcastically. 

Maybe you shouldn’t have turned at that point, I said like it wasn’t the most obvious thing. 

“You wanted ice cream. didn’t you?” Silas asked like me wanting ice cream justified the stunt he just pulled “What if people got into an accident and died?” I fired back, turning around to check if there were no casualties. 

It was crazy 

how he had just turned the car around just because wanted ice cream, and low–key, I liked it. 

“But they didn’t, Silas pointed out, talking like it was no issue. 

It was quite obvious that he didn’t care about anyone else, and I doubt his response would have been much different if people had died. 

He was a mafia don, and obviously, people dying meant nothing to him. 

Was I okay with that? 

I was certain, but I’m not a saint myself. So I said nothing. 

The car stopped in front of the ice cream place and Silas got 

got out 

A few minutes later I remained seated in the car, waiting for him to open the door for me. 

“Are you waiting for a red carpet?” Solas hissed sarcastically pulling the car door open. 

“Thank you,” I smiled sweetly at him, climbing down as I ignored his comment 

It wasn’t too hard that I wanted him to open up the door, it would have been better if he helped me down, but Lguess we would 

with what we got. 

Silas grunted as he slammed the door shut, turning around and striding in. 

Chuckling. I was barely able to contain my happiness as I walked faster to meet him. 

The issue about his reckless driving was forgotten, ice cream filling my mind. 

What? Don’t judge me. Have you never seen a twenty–four–year–old get excited about ice cream? 

“What flavor do you want sir?” The woman behind the counter asked and my attention instantly snapped to her. 

She was smiling sexily at Silas and her eyes raked over his features as she played with a few strands of hair

She twisted it around her fingers and I resisted the urge to roll my eyes,

“Katrina,” Silas called my name, looking down at me. His hair had fallen, a few strands covering his eyes. 

My heart skipped a beat as I stared up at him, my cheeks heating up. 

“Sir, what flavors do you want?” The woman asked once more, clearly not liking being ignored. 

She reached for Silas‘ arm, and he turned to her, his eyes glaring 

Silas, ignoring her attempts to seduce him turned to me once more, his eyes asking for what I wanted 

Her attention instantly snapped to me and she raked her eyes over my features, her lips pulled up in distaste. 

I have Maria at home waiting for me and I would not drag Silas with some random hoe. 

“Do you want something? The mini flavor is really good. The girl suggested but I ignored her. 

Tucking my hair behind my ears, I turned to Silas, my lips pulling into a smile. 

“Daddy, I’m not sure what to choose,” I said, pouting my lips as stared up at him. My fingers wrapped around his biceps, and 1 blinked, waiting for him to say something. 

Silas‘ eyes widened slightly, it was merely a fraction and would have been easy to miss.

Her face froze, and I smirked at her, looking down at the showcase to pick a flavor.

Silas received a call while I waited for my order, and he nodded at me, walking out of the ice cream place. 

I watched as he stood next to the car, his phone to his ears as he spoke to someone. 

“Here’s your Ice cream,” the counter girl spoke and I turned to her immediately. 

“Thank you,” I said, grabbing y order from her. 

I made to turn but I paused, turning back to her..

My eyes shook as I stared at the car, which was ablaze, tears blurring my vision.
