Chapter 35
Abigail bit her lower lip and said apologetically, “Joshua accidentally got hurt pretty badly. I need to go check on him.”
Hearing that, I scoffed and said, “Is that so? He didn’t go to the hospital immediately the moment he got injured, but he chose to call you on purpose.”
Abigail was embarrassed at my words.
She hesitated and said, “Joshua has a short temper. If things aren’t done right, he wouldn’t leave. Even if he’s hurt, he would put up with the pain. So, I need to go and persuade him to go
o’the hospital.”

I calmly looked at Abigail and remained unfazed as she tried to explain.
I vaguely remembered that when I first met Abigail, she would care for me when I had a slight pain or injury. Now, she cared about someone else instead.
She would always hang out with Joshua, whether they were at the filming site or at home.
Not only did she not feel guilty when she saw me, but she would also urge me to leave as soon as possible with an annoyed look on her face.
Joshua was just a D–list celebrity. It was difficult for him to get a script. If Abigail’s
connections didn’t help him out, he wouldn’t have the chance to get his current role.
Back then, I didn’t realize that Abigail had cheated on me. I thought that she was just discussing work with those men.
It was only now that I realized Abigail enjoyed torturing me the most.
I scoffed and looked at her coldly before asking, “If that’s the case, why don’t you go and look for your lover? Do you still have the time to stay here and argue with Ms. Smith about who’s my family?”
Abigail felt guilty and was rendered speechless by my words.
She stood where she was in a daze, as if she couldn’t decide whether she should leave or not.
I couldn’t care less about Abigail, so I snuggled under the blankets and closed my eyes.
However, the sharp pain in my abdomen kept me awake. After a while, my forehead was beaded with sweat.
“Why haven’t you left?” At that moment, Sophia’s displeased voice sounded from the doorway.
Sophia came back with my file in her hand. She looked at Abigail with disdain as she walked past her. Then, she sat next to me.
It was my first time to see Sophia getting mad at Abigail.
“Samuel, since you have someone to accompany you, I’ll go check on Joshua,” Abigail said.
I looked at her out of curiosity as I smirked and waved my hand. “Whatever. Just stop
“Samuel, since you have someone to accompany you, I’ll go check on Joshua,” Abigail said.
I looked at her out of curiosity as I smirked and waved my hand. “Whatever. Just stop bothering me, okay? Since you have chosen someone else, you should be responsible for them instead of trying to have the best of both worlds. By the way, hurry up and sign the divorce papers. There’s no point in dragging this out.”
As soon as I said that, I didn’t look at her anymore.
However, Abigail bit her lower lip and shook her head firmly. “No. I won’t divorce you. I’ve said that I’ll never get a divorce in this lifetime unless you die.”
With that, Abigail quickly turned and left the ward.
I heard her phone ringing repeatedly when she was about to leave.
“She has gone too far!” Sophia was visibly upset. She angrily slammed the ward’s door as she defended me.
I couldn’t help but laugh as I shook my head and said gently, “She just can’t handle the fact that I’ve dumped her.”
