Chapter 30 

Katrina’s POV 

I waited in fear for Phillip’s next move, my heart beating wildly in my chest. 

My body trembled, muscles strained to their breaking point as hung helplessly from the chains. 

The room was spinning, and it was becoming harder to keep my eyes open 

I didn’t think that I would be able to take any more of this, my whole body was crying out in protest. 

My skin was sticky with sweat, and blood trickled from my wrist and ankles where the cuffs bit into my flesh. 

Every breath I took was shallow and labored, my chest heaving as I fought to keep from slipping into unconsciousness.

I just had an asthma attack for crying out loud, couldn’t help at least show some sort of sympathy towards me. 

Did he really not care if I lived or died? 

Phillip stood in front of me with his arms crossed, observing me like I was some pathetic creature dangling on a hook 

His smirk twisted into something so sinister and I was filled with terror. 

“Well, this is boring.” He sighed, tossing the baton away with a casual flick of his wrist. 

I watched as the device clattered to the ground right next to him 

“Let’s try something else.” 

He clapped his hands twice, the sound echoing through the room 

The silence that followed through was maddening. 

My mind raced, imagining all the horrible things Phillip planned to do to me. 

My body was tensed, bracing itself for whatever fresh torture he had planned. 

But the waiting was almost worse. 

Then the door was pulled open behind me.. 

1 couldn’t turn my head to see who had come in, but I could hear their footsteps as they got closer. 

My heart pounded harder, my stomach twisting into knots as I struggled to make sense of what was happening. 

Then I heard it, the sound of water inside a large container. 

My eyes widened in horror and I bit down on my lip to keep from crying out. 

What does he plan on doing with that? 

“Perfect, Phillip’s voice was filled with obvious excitement and could hear the sadistic grin in his tone as he turned his attention back to me. 

“You’re going to love this.” 

It sounded as if this had gotten past Phillip torturing me because of Silas and now he was doing it for his own sick

Chapter 30 

amusement. 

“Lift her.” Phillip ordered and felt the chain pull tighter as my body was lifted even higher, leaving my toes barely brushing the ground 

The muscles in my shoulders screamed in protest, sending jolts of pain shooting down my arms as I dangled helplessly. 

I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to steady my breathing and try to prepare for what was about to happen. 

But how could I prepare for this? 

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw one of Phillip’s men dip a large bucket into the drum and lift it up with water spilling from the sides. 

Phillip moved closer to me, the bucket now in his hands. 

He held it over my head, a slow, wicked smile spreading across his face as he tilted the bucket. 

He was going to empty its contents on me. 

I realized, my heart hammering. I fought as one of Phillip’s men wrapped a cloth around my face, cutting off my air flow a 

bit. 

Panic instantly set in and I thrashed against the chains. 

“Fighting is useless right now. Let’s see how long you can hold,” 

Before I could react, the water came pouring down over me, cold and suffocating 

The shock of it hit me first, freezing my skin and making my muscles tense as the water drenched my face. streaming into my eyes, my nose, my mouth. 

I couldn’t breathe. 

I gasped, choking on the water as it filled my lungs, my body convulsing in a desperate attempt to breathe. 

I thrashed wildly, my arms and legs pulling against the citains as panic set in. 

My vision blurred, the world around me spinning as I struggled to stay cscious. 

Please make it stop. 

I could hear Phillip laughing, his voice distant through the water and cloth that was wrapped around my face. 

just when I thought I couldn’t take it anymore, the water stopped 

!coughed violently, gasping for air with my chest heaving as I tried to remove the water in my lungs. 

My head hung low, my body trembling uncontrollably as I sucked in ragged breaths. My chest heaved, my heart beating wildly in my chest. 

But it wasn’t over. 

hillip was already lifting another bucket. 

Again,” he said, his voice dripping with cruel amusement. He seemed to be enjoying this way too much. Enjoying seeing me ight and cry. He seemed to like putting me in such a pathetic position. 

The water came down again, harsher this time and I sputtered, trying to keep my mouth closed, but the force of it

It felt like strowning, over and over again.

I couldn’t catch my breath. I couldn’t think. I couldn’t focus on anything except the overwhelming need for air. 

My heart pounded painfully in my chest, my lungs burning as I fought to stay conscious. 

Everything was spinning. 

The chains rattled as my body convulsed, fighting for freedom. 

I needed to get these chains off me, but the more I pulled, the pore it hurt and the more useless 1 felt. 

My skin was already peeled off and I was bleeding 

1 felt myself shipping, dots dancing in my vision as my body began to shut down from the lack of oxygen. 

I gasped, feeling the sensation of getting choked, the water rushing in through my nose. 

I tried to hold my breath but that was just a useless attempt. 

1 kicked my legs in desperation, my wrists straining to pull free from the restraints. 

I couldn’t die like this, not after everything I had endured. 

My whole life flashed before my eyes and I realized I never really lived. 

1 hadn’t done anything yet. 

I was still so young. 

But Phillip showed no mercy. 

I heard his footsteps circle me, and I strained my ears to find out where he was 

It was followed by another bucket of water that crashed against my face, more forceful this time. 

The shock tore through me, my body jerking uncontrollably. 

“Look at you.” Phillip murmured, his voice lg. 

“You’re pathetic.” He spat. 

I gasped for air as the water ceased again, my lungs burning from the constant suffocation.

I swallowed hard, my throat painfully dry despite being soaked with water. 

My entire body shook with a mixture of exhaustion and fear. 

The pain in my limbs, the pressure in my lungs, it was all too much. 

Another bucket of water was raised above my head and I was once again thrown into 

a state of panic. 

“Let’s see how much more you can take,” Phillip grinned as the water poured over me again. 

This time, it felt like an eternity. 

My mouth filled with water, and no matter how hard I fought to spit it out, I couldn’t. 

It was endless. 

My thoughts became a blur, the only thing I thought of was the need for air driving me to survive. 

My body twisted, convulsing in its attempt to break free, but the chains only dug deeper into my skin, the metal biting into my wrists, 

The water kept coming, and I felt myself slipping away. 

The room was starting to spin now, my desperate attempts to cling unto my consciousness was futile. 

Maybe it would be best if I just let myself go and fall unconscious. 

I couldn’t last much longer 

Just before the world went black, I heard a voice cut through the chaos.
