Chapter 98
The door closed, and Samantha curled up in the comer. She hopped her knees to her chest and buried her face between them, finally letting her emotions pour nut.
She had spent all this time trying her best to please Leonardo. She never let it get to her even when he ignored her–and only kept thinking of ways to make up for it.
However, what had just happened left her feeling wronged and deeply humiliated. She felt disrespected–like she really was nothing more than a toy for others to play with, hist as Leonarda had once said.
The door suddenly swung open. Samantha instinctively recoiled, but the headboard was already behind her. She looked like a startled town, her eyes red–rimmed, tear tracks still streaking her cheeks
Leonardo’s lips parted slightly as he spoke. “Something to change late.”
Then, be tossed a set of clothes onto the bed and closed the door again.
Samantha glanced down at what he had left on the edge of the bed but didn’t reach for them. She wasn’t sure if Leonardo would return, and the unease lingering within her refused to fade.

Samantha had been about to leave the hospital and head home. She hadn’t expected to run into Leonardo, let alone end up at his place. Noticing Layla’s concem, Samantha felt a wave of guilt. Even with tears still streaking her face, she simply wiped them away and quickly replied to Layla. She wrote, “I’m sorry, Layla. I just got a chance to check my phone. I don’t think I’ll be coming home tonight.”
Layla tested back quickly, “Oh, who are you with?
Samantha glanced at the door and hesitated for a long time before finally replying, “I’m with a friend.”
As the saying goes, anything could be explained away with “a friend“, Layla didn’t press for details and instead gave a serious reminder. She wrote, “Alright then, but make sure to stay safe. And please, don’t get yourself knocked up!”
Samantha froze for a bit, unable to put her feelings into words. However, she still obediently replied, “Tilbe careful”
She wasn’t sure if she was referring to staying safe or not getting pregnant..
Curled up in the comer, Samantha kept wondering if Leonardo would corne back into the room. At some point, she drifted off to sleep while lost in her thoughts.
