Chapter 26
Not a moment later, the police arrived. Froste pushed Erin away and pointed at her.]
“Take her away,” he said coldly.[]
She tried to protest as the police forcibly grabbed her. When she kept trying to run, they dragged her by the hair and slapped her across the face.
Her hair was sticking to her face and her make–up was completely smeared. She looked terrible.]
“Please,” She cried, trying to plead with them but they didn’t hold back.[]
One of them grabbed a baton and hit her so hard that it made a cracking sound. The sound of bone cracking.
There was a lot of blood trickling down her forehead. Another policeman dragged her and pushed her away while she continued to sob.
Everybody watched in silence as she was taken away by the police. Froste’s mother was uncontrollable as she hurried after them.
Without a word, I went straight to the company’s computers and proceeded to transfer all the money that belonged to me back to my card.
I turned back to Froste who was watching me intently.[]
“From this point on, you gave no other reason to contact me. I don’t want to ever see you again.” I said coldly.[]
In the blink of an eye, Froste began to cough. His cough grew more violent by the second.
My eyes widened in shock when I saw blood on his hands. He was coughing out blood.]
He looked up at me weakly, unable to believe that I could reject him again so harshly and without a single sliver of remorse.
Even in such a condition, he still managed to look flawlessly handsome. Curse his extraordinary face.
My whole body froze on the spot. I’d heard something, and it sounded like Froste’s wolf yelling out of pain.
No. I must have been mistaken. I didn’t have a wolf. There was no way I could have actually heard that.
“Are you really going back to the Luciano’s now?“]
“Of course,” I said with certainty. “They’re my family after all.“[]
Without looking back, I made my way out of the building.
Haelor stood back, staring down at Froste. There was a mocking look in his eyes as he spoke.]
“You don’t have to keep following her anymore,” He said mockingly. “I’ll protect her now.”
w.”
Haelor eventually left the building and came to stand with me.
Chapter 26
“I think I’m ready to face my real family now.” I said.
“Everything’s ready for you.” Haelor said, a smile on his face.[]
The sound of a helicopter drew my attention and I looked up just in time to see it about to land.[]
I would face whatever the future held, come what may.
I let out a breath as I stared at myself in the mirror. I was finally going to see my family. The thought was both exciting and nerve–wracking at the same time.
I let out another breath and turned to look at the dress that had been laid out for me. There was apparently going to be a grand welcoming ceremony for me as soon as we landed.
I couldn’t just go out there looking all shabby. I had to make sure I was ready for it.
I grabbed the make–up I’d been holding and began to apply it on my face.
Once I checked myself in the mirror and was satisfied with my appearance, I turned to the dress.[]
The dress that Askhan had made specially for me. To say the dress was beautiful would be the biggest understatement ever. It was simply amazing.
I put on the dress and turned around in front of the mirror. I didn’t remember the last time I felt so beautiful.[]
“We’ll be landing in a few minutes, princess.” The pilot announced.]]
I nodded my head and went to join up with Haelor. As soon as he saw me, his eyes widened.
“You look beautiful.” He said, unable to take his eye off me.]
“Thank you,” My cheeks felt warm as I sat down beside him.[]
Looking out the window, I couldn’t help the gasp that left my lips.
The place has been beautifully decorated just for my arrival. Flowers lined the pathway that I would walk through.
Not to mention the guests that had come to welcome me. There were a lot of them. I turned to Haelor, unable to hide the surprise on my face.
“There are so many people,”
“They’re all here to welcome you, princess.”
My cheeks were starting to hurt from how much I’d been smiling.
“All these people are here to celebrate your homecoming.” Haelor smiled.
I let his words sink in. The old Adella wouldn’t even have a rat appreciate her presence. Now I was going to be welcomed by a whole horde of people.
So this was what it meant to be the richest.

I could make out the faces of most of the guests. I knew them because I’d seen most of their faces on TV before.]
