Chapter 19
Truthfully, I was still shaking as the nervousness ran through me. It was hard getting my hands to stay still. Putting on the
smile was another different task entirely.
Stay calm. Stay calm.]
A young reporter stepped forward, a small smile on her face. She must have noticed how nervous I was as she had an encouraging smile on her face.
“Miss Adella. We’ve heard news about your recent discovery of your affiliations with the Luciano family. Please tell us how you felt when you discovered that.” She said, staring expectantly at me.
me.]
“Well,” I inched closer to the mic. “It was honestly surprising getting to discover that. I never expected such a thing to be true. All my life I’d never imagined I’d actually have such a family. I’m immensely grateful for everything.”
She smiled at me and moved on to the next questions. With each question she asked, I gave a satisfactory answer. As the conference went on, I realized I wasn’t so nervous anymore. I was able to answer the question with confidence.]
“Thank you once again for holding this conference, Miss Adella. We look forward to hearing more from you.” The reporter nodded her head before going back to her seat.
“I’d like to make an announcement.” Olavir steps on to the stage.
All the reporters listened attentively. He grabbed a mic and began to speak. “I’d like to formerly announce to the public, my long lost sister, Miss Adella Luciano.“]
He turned to look at me. “Welcome back home, sis.“]
I couldn’t help the smile that came to my lips. Askhan and Haelor stepped on stage as well. They took the seats beside me. Haelor crossed his arms, a look of boredom on his face. Askhan was smiling to the crowd, ever the prince charming.]
The girls in the crowd were going nuts upon seeing the two men. It seems they were the love interest of a lot of young girls.
The day wraps up pretty quickly. The exhaustion was slowly settling in and I wanted nothing but to sleep. I gasped in surprise when Askhan pulled me close.
“I have a surprise for you. Follow me.”
I didn’t try to protest, following him out of the door. He leads me to his car, opening the door for me as we reached. As he began to drive, I put on the radio.
“Stay tuned, listeners. We’re about to get an exclusive interview with the Alpha of Galaxy Pack. Welcome to the show, Alpha Froste.”
“Thank you for having me.“]]
I froze when I heard a familiar voice. Froste. I increased the volume of the radio, paying closer attention to
Askhan must have noticed the change in my body language but he said nothing. Froste was talking about what happened with the secretary. He sounded….tired.

Chapter 19
“It was all a setup. Everything. My mother was the mastermind behind everything.” He confessed.
“How did that make you feel?” The reporter asked.[]
“I regret everything. I regret how Adella was treated. I wish I treated her better, took better care of her.” He sighed.]
I swallowed, letting his words sink in. The reporter let out a hum and began speaking again.]]
“Do you know who Adella really is?”
Askhan put off the radio before I could hear anything else. His gaze was fixed on the path ahead.
“Stop thinking about him. He’s your past. Put your happiness first, Adella.“]
I nodded my head, trying to ignore the pang in my chest. My eyes widened as we passed the familiar road to my old orphanage.
“Askhan?”
Askhan must have noticed the look on my face. He had a bright smile on his face as we entered the driveway of the orphanage.
“Surprise.” He smiled. “I learnt from Olavir that you miss this place a lot so I thought I’d bring you here. What do you think?”
I forced a smile on my face despite the feeling of dread welling up in my chest. “Thank you.“]
“Sure thing. Let’s head in.” Askhan smiled.[]
He grabbed my hand and led us into the orphanage. I tried to ignore how hard my heart was pounding against my chest. This was the last place I wanted to be.
As we looked around, I noticed something. The place was a filthy mess. The rooms looked like they hadn’t been cleaned properly in a long time. [
The children weren’t better. They looked like they’d been starved and malnourished. Askhan looked like he must have
noticed too.
“Have this place always been like this?” Askhan turned to me.
Before I could answer, the orphanage administrator came into the room. My mood immediately soured as I saw him. Mr. Watson. He had already greying hair and a pudgy face. His eyes were maniacally wide as he walked up to me.]
“You’re finally back, I see.” He scoffed.
I didn’t say anything, simply staring back at her. That seemed to piss him off even more as he pointed a finger to me.
“If you have even a sliver of gratefulness, donate to our orphanage.“]
