The Eight shone on Cameron’s side profile and tell over the documents he was holding. It made the sharp lines of his face seem much softer.
It was very quiet, and there was only the slight rustle of papers whenever he flipped through the documents
stood at the door, watching Cameron work earnestly in silence. She stood rooted to the spot as if she had been bewitched.
She did not know how much time had passed before his familiar, deep voice rang in her ears, making her snap back to her senses. “How long will you stand there and gap at me?” he asked.
Quinn Hushed at being discovered and looked rather embarrassed
“Come in,” Cameron ordered. He put the documents away and looked up at her at last.
She entered the study meekly, and the door closed automatically behind her.
When she reached him, she asked softly, “Why did you come back so early today?”
finished work early,” he answered. He reached out and pulled her onto his lap and into his arms.
Quinn had been a little nervous at first, but she related completely when she leaned against his chest. It felt like a habit
“I went to attend a reunion tonight,” Quinn explained. She told him about what she had done,
“Low“He leaned his chin on top of her head, sounding unusually gentle.
“I won’t go again. I just wait at home for you every day,” she said.
Cameron asked, “Why? Didn’t you have fun!”
It wasn’t just that she hadn’t had fun
Quinn did not answer him. Instead, she just turned and kissed him
When she woke up, it was already broad daylight.
As she had expected, Cameron had already left.
She turned on her phone and saw several missed calls from the same, unfamiliar number. Who had called her so many times so early in the morning?
She called back, feeling confused.
The phone rang thrice before someone picked up. Before she could speak, she heard a woman’s bright, clear voice on the other end. “Are you finally answering your phone, Quinn?”
“Wh–who are you?” Quinn was utterly confused by how aggressive the woman sounded.
“What You’re already thinking of all kinds of ways to seduce my fiance. Are you really going to pretend that you don’t know who I am?”
“Zoe?” Deinn Einally realized who she was
“Hmph! I guess you really are planning to take my fiance away from me.”
Quinn was exasperated by Zee’s paranoia
“I won’t beat around the bush with you. Come to The Bus at 2:00 pm this afternoon. I have something to tell you,” Zoe sald
“If you have anything to say, you can do it wer the phone”
“How can I make myself clear over the phone? We’ve agreed on the time, so you’d better be punctual and not keep me waiting. I’m not a patient person, Zoe said. She hung up at once without giving Quinn a chance to refuse
quinn looked at the black screen of her phone and ughed inwardly. It seemed that trouble would come looking for her even if she wanted to stay out of it
Well these were some things that it would be bemes to be clear about. She did not want to be continuously treated as an enemy.
