Chapter 37
Frank was having dinner with Lea, but he would check his phone every few minutes.
Lea tried to keep the conversation going, but when she saw his about–aded aspartidas, her expression turned cold She stared at him, her frustration finally spilling over. “Frank, we haven’t gone on a date in so long, You’ve been avoiding me, and I don’t understand why things between us suddenly changed”
Frank mapped back to reality at the sound of her voice and glanced up from his phone. His team had just sent another message. There were still no updates on Emma’s whereabouts.
Em used to listen to him about everything. Every major decision in her lite halbeen made by him. He told her where to go to university, and she went.
He studied finance, but Emma had a natural talent for dance. Yet without hesitation, she gave up the arts and switched to a science track just to follow him into finance.
After graduation, he even arranged a position for her. She spent two years in the department and excelled at her job.
Frank had always thought Emma was timid, someone who blindly followed his lead. Sometimes, i amoyed him, but other times, when he was bored, having her around was convenient
Now, she was gone.
No matter how much time passed, he still couldn’t accept that Emma had truly left him

He stood up, his jaw tight and his expression unreadable. His words might have sounded calm, but they weren’t a request–they were a command
Lea nearly lost control of her expression. She glanced at the glass Frank had just unished and clenched her teeth. She had poured him wine, but he hadn’t drank a single drop.
Instead, he drank only water as if he had been on guard the whole time. Was he afraid something might happen between them again?
Resentment bubbled up inside hes as they headed toward the restaurant’s rear door. The restaurant had arranged a private way out for them just because she was a celebrity
Lea stumbled slightly. Frank might not have been drinking, but she had
Heat surged through her body, bet cheeks Blushing deep red as the effects of the drug took hold. Soon, a wave of dizziness blurred her vision. She lost het balance and collapsed toward Frank
Looking at her, Frank frowned deeply. Instead of pubing her into his embrace, his hands froze in mid–air
“Lea, what’s wrong
Loa’s heart tightened. She couldn’t let him find out she had drugged their wine, so she softened her voice as she said, “Frank, I feel so dizzy.. I think I have a fever.”
As she shifted, the wound on her alten was exposed again.
Looking so fragile and helpless, there was no way Frank wouldn’t waver
Frank watched the scene unfold, torn between conflicting thoughts. Did he still care about Lea? Maybe he did. After all, after falling for her, bọi dated anyone else. In his mind, she had always been unique, someone completely irreplaceable.
I spent years waiting for ber and had never
Now that he had reunited with Lea, Frank was surprised to realize that without the lens of nostalgia and expectation, she no longer stood out. She was just an ordinary woman to him. She no longer stirred any waves in his heart.
Back when Emma was by his side, had only been with Lea to get a reaction out of her. After all, Emma had once dared to use liquid courage to “humiliate” him, ignoring the fact that he
was her uncle.
„Frank let out a sigh and said, “Lea, I’ll take you to the hospital. If you have a fever, don’t go to the set today. Just get some rest”
