Chapter 146: Mercy’s side

Mercy was an old friend. When they were young, mercy had protected her. But after an accident, Mercy told her to wait for help but never came back. She used to resent her. But seeing her now, knowing that Mercy had been protecting her in the shadows, Anya felt it was

hard to breathe.

“I am sorry,” Mercy said.

“For leaving me behind those years ago?” Anya asked.

“For not protecting you better,” Mercy said.

“You really do not feel you are wrong, do you?” Anya said with a sneer and got up to leave.

“I am used to making these decisions for you, okay? I am not used to having to ask you,” Mercy said.

“I heard you did a lot of things for me. You have been protecting me secretly since childhood, and even that entire setup at the cruise was to prove I had nothing on me and get me released. I heard it all. But so what? Should I thank you?” Anya asked.

“No, I do not want your thanks. Anya, for the longest time you have not been able to keep up with danger. How much danger you were in or what was really going on behind the scenes. I had to make split decisions to protect you. I am just used to making those decisions because I have never had to ask you. I am not asking for thanks or a price. I just hope you will understand a lot more,” Mercy said.

Anya felt tears fill her eyes.

“Do you know how it felt to think you had hurt me? To think you had not told me you were helping me in the shadows?” Anya asked, and Mercy started to apologize profusely.

“I am sorry. I should have told you. We should have put heads together to plan our steps. I should have let you know,” Mercy apologized.

“So, what now? Are you going to always apologize when you make decisions without my input?” Anya asked.

“No. I will not. I will ask you from now on. Besides, no matter how much of an airhead you are, someone else is there to do it for me,” Mercy said and glanced at Daniel. Only then did Anya notice Daniel had woken up and was in the room.

“You are teasing me?” Anya asked.

“I always knew you would marry well,” Mercy said.

Things at home had returned to normal except for Daniel who was becoming very clingy. He insisted on taking her to work with him in another city.

“What would I do there?” Anya asked.

“Watch me work?” He said. She looked at him incredulously before agreeing. That night Daniel went in to have a bath while she was in bed.

She had just finished packing for their trip and laid down when he stepped out of the shower.

The water dripping from his body as he ran his hand through his hair was very intoxicating to

watch.

Anya was not sure, but she had been having the feeling that Daniel has been seducing her these days.

from his hard abs to meet his eyes. She turned red when she was caught staring. She wondered how long he had been watching her drooling over him..

She hurriedly got off the bed to go take a bath.

As she escaped, she heard a low chuckle escape him. She shit the bathroom door and felt like slapping herself.

She was the one refusing his advances to let them know each other better, but she was still drooling over him.

She was so ashamed that she was not looking and did not realize when Daniel had slipped into

the shower behind her. –

When she suddenly felt his hand around her, she yelled.

“Baby, it is me,” he said.

“Why are you in here?” she asked.

“I came to help you wash your back,” he said, and she slapped his arm.

“Who actually needs help washing their back?” she asked defiantly. She had never heard such a sloppy excuse before.

Daniel wrapped his arm around her and pulled her closer to him.

“Baby, when will you stop running?” he whispered into her ear, Anya could tell he was not wearing anything.

She panicked a bit.

“How can you cash someone’s shower?” she asked nervously.

She suddenly felt his hard member pressing to her butt, and her breath hitched. Seeing her reaction, Daniel smiled.

“Let me help you wash,” Daniel said, lathering his hand with soap and rubbing from her back up her shoulder till her large peaks.

Anya thought she would lose her mind from the caressing, but she was wrong. His fingers suddenly pinched softly her nipples, and a ripple of pleasure shot up her spine.

Seeing that she was not protesting, Daniel’s second hand found its way down between her legs, and she let out a small squeal and made to escape, but his arm was still strongly in place,

Anya suddenly felt disappointed when he let go.

But her disappointment did not last when he wedged his knee on the shower seat and picked her up and placed her on his stable leg.
