Chapter 20

Panic hit Natalie the moment she heard those words. She quickly placed a protective hand over her stomach

The Ashworth family wasn’t the same as it used to be. They’d been hanging by a thread financially for some time

Natalie lost this baby, her chances of ever marrying Hugh would be gone. Even worse, she could end up married to that disgusting old man and be nothing more than his toy

Her face drained of color. Without thinking, she grabbed the phone, ready to call Emilia, who always put family first. She’d do anything to protect Natalie once she learned about the pregnancy

Dobele Natalie could dial, Hugh kicked the phone out of her hand. Then, he rose to his feet and tilted her chin up with the tip of his shoe

He said coldly, Get rid of the baby. The divorce is done, so it doesn’t matter whether you agree or not. et pulling tricks. You’d better apologize to Kel when I find her. I might sprey if she forgives you”

Hugh didn’t leave Natalie any room to say no. She’d ahrays be the one forced to give in when it came to him

Lying on the floor in a mess, Natalie kept her arms wrapped around her stomach, still trying to protect it. She believed her future wouldn’t change too much as long as she could have this baby

But Hugh had no plans to let that happen. He’d already hurt Kelly enough. If this child made it, any chance he had with her would be gone for good

His face contorted with malice as he told the bodyguards to drag Natalie to the hospital

No matter how fiercely she fought at how desperately she begged through her tears, she couldn’t stand up to the men who held her down on the cold operating table

The anesthesia flowed through her veins, robbing her of strength. Her eyelids closed beyond her will

When Natalie finally woke up, her stomach felt hollow. Every last ounce of hope was gone

As the anesthesia faded, a sharp, searing pain ripped through her, making even the smallest civement unbearable. Tears tan down her cheeks

The baby was gone, taking her future with it

Meanwhile, Hugh was at his usual nightclub hideaway, drowning his regrets in bonge in a private room. He couldn’t remember the last time he’d managed to sleep through the

night

Kelly’s absence grew more real as the days went by. It was like she had never lived in that ville at all. He couldn’t bring himself to go back, so he lost himself here with drink after drink

I’m so sorry, KelDidn’t you always hate it when I drank? Come stope, kel”

There was a knock at the door, but Hugh didn’t bother to answer. Only a handful of close friends new about this room. He hadn’t mentioned he’d be here tonight

But the locking didn’t stop. And when he didn’t answer, the door swing open

Get the bell Hugh started to snap, but the words caught in his throat the moment he looked up

A young woman had just rolled a cart of drinks and snacks into the room

HL did you order these?”

That voice of hers hit him like a freight train. It was so familia, His eyes burned with emotion
