Chapter 10
Meanwhile, the woman in bed was pouting. “Brad, don’t you need to be with Alice? Today is her due date.”
Maisy wrapped her arms around Bradley’s neck, looking delicate and pitiful under the flashes of lightning.

“It’s fine. It’s just childbirth. I already sent Jacob over,” Bradley said. “You’re the most important person to me, Maisy. How could I leave you alone?”
After marrying Alice, he had to bury his love for Maisy deep inside. He couldn’t even visit her when she was sick. Everything he did for her had to be under the guise of a brother–in -law’s concern. He had been suffocating for years.
But now, with Zachary away on a business trip, he finally had his chance.
The woman he loved, the one he had even killed for, was right in his arms. How could he spare a single thought for Alice?
Maisy let out a few playful giggles, a satisfied smile on her lips. She tightened her arms around Bradley’s neck while deliberately pressing her chest against his.
She could hear his heavy breathing and feel the tension in his body.
“Brad, I never stopped wanting you all these years.”
Sure enough, the next second, Bradley couldn’t hold back and pulled her tighter into his arms.
Back then, Maisy had a heart condition. Marrying Alice was the only way to save her. But all these years, he had only loved Maisy.
For years, he thought he was doomed to be a silent, self–sacrificing bystander in her life. He never imagined that she, too, had feelings for him.
Bradley’s eyes reddened. Years of restraint shattered as he pressed frantic kisses onto her fair skin.
Maisy smirked seductively, showing no resistance. She even rested the tip of her foot on his shoulder.
Outside, thunder raged. Inside, the two of them tangled together, stripping away the last pretense of their relationship.
Bradley murmured sweet nothings into her ear, over and over, even when Maisy didn’t respond.
“I love you, Maisy. No matter who we’re married to, I’ll always come when you need me. Everything I have belongs to you, Maisy.”
Beneath him, Maisy smiled.
It didn’t matter whether it was Bradley or Zachary. She wanted any man who had been by Alice’s side.
Alice must be lying alone in a hospital bed right now, giving birth with no one by her side. How pitiful.
Just thinking about it made Maisy happy. She wrapped her arms around Bradley’s waist and said softly, “Brad, stay with me for a while longer.”
Immediately, his movements became more urgent. Their moans and gasps blended together.
Two hours later, they finally stopped. Bradley held Maisy in his arms, reluctant to leave.
“Brad, you should go check on Alice,” she murmured as she traced her fingers across his chest.
Bradley’s face showed a rare impatience. Just then, Maisy continued, “Don’t forget. That child is ours. You need to bring it back.”
His brows, which had knitted together, relaxed. For a moment, he had almost forgotten. If Maisy hadn’t wanted the baby, he wouldn’t have let Alice give birth so smoothly in the first place.
He got out of bed, already rehearsing the lie in his head. He would tell Alice the baby didn’t survive. That way, he could take the child and give it to Maisy without any trouble.
With a gentle look in his eyes, he kissed Maisy’s forehead. “Wait for me. I’ll be back soon.”
Bradley had just gotten dressed and was about to drive to the hospital when his phone rang. It was Jacob, whom he had sent out earlier.
The baby had probably been born by now, and he wondered whether his child with Maisy was a boy or a girl.
Smiling, Bradley answered the call.
“Mr. Sharp! Mrs Sharp isn’t at the hospital!” Jacob’s panicked voice burst through the speaker.
Bradley froze. “What? That’s impossible!”
A bolt of lightning flashed, illuminating Bradley’s stunned face. How could Alice not be at the hospital?
