As these thoughts ran through her mind, Eva suddenly felt an urgent need for a definite answer. “Leon.”

“After you divorce Victoria, will you marry me?” Eva asked, her heartbeat accelerating I was not from nervousness but unease, a fear of hearing the answer she did not want.
A hint of seriousness flashed across Leon’s usually composed features. He had clearly not expected her to ask this.
“I know this question is a bit about. But just want to get some clarity so I can be mentally prepared,” Eva continued without waiting for his response, not wanting the moment to
hum awkward.
“I gave you the answer from the start. The outcome will not change no matter what happens along the way,” Leon stated directly

“Then will you marry someone else?” she asked tentatively
Leon’s deep and unreadable gare settled on her. He knew what she was thinking and why she was asking these questions, but that did not mean he would give her the answer she wanted.
Eva waited for a long time, but no ponse came. Deep down, she already knew the truth–he would never marry her.
“I’m just worried that if you marry someone else, she might not accept my presence. That would inevitably cause trouble,” she added quickly, trying to find a reasonable excuse. Leon give her a definite answer. “Mrs. Quigley will only ever be Victoria”
Whether she wanted it or not, the name listed under his spouse would always be hers.

“If you regret your previous decision, you can still reconsider. I’ll respect your choice,” Leon said. He had noticed the change in her expression, but from the beginning, he had made things clear. What hecould not give, he would never promise.

Leon reached out and adjusted her shawl. They remained there for a while longer before he offered a few words of reassurance and lett, citing company matters.
By the time Victoria arrived at the hospital, it was almost noon. She first went to check on Laura, speaking to her for a long time. Still concerned about her condition, she later consulted with the doctor. Fortunately, all medical indicators remained stable.
After lunch, Leslie came by the ward. Seeing that Victoria was still there, he spoke to her in a reassuring tone. “There’s no need to worry. Your mother’s condition is stable. If things go well, she could regain consciousness in as soon as two weeks. At the latest, within two months. Focus on your own work and don’t stress too much.”
“I don’t have much to do at the moment,” Victoria replied. She still wanted to stay and keep Laura company.
