Chapter 62
offending Jeremiah might only result in a few complaints and some harsh words, But if the manager crossed Aaron and Leon, he might not be able to handle the unknown
consequences
The supervisors glanced at the time Seeing that it was about right, they entered the room with their respective items.
“Didn’t I say not to disturb us unless called for you?” Jeremiah spoke the moment the door opened, his gaze clearly filled with impatience.
A supervisor panicked internally. But he kept his expression calm as he walked over to Victoria with a bouquet of flowers “Ms. Smith, these flowers are for you.”
Victoria was caught off guard. She stared at the bouquet of red roses but didn’t reach for them.
“Mr. Quinn, the item you requested is ready” The other supervisor quietly handed him a small ring boo
Jeremiah took it, utterly confused. “What is this?”
When he opened the box and saw the ring inside, a string of question marks popped up in his mind. He instinctively looked at the person who had handed it to him. The supervisor responded with a smile and whispered, “Good luck!”
Jeremiah was speechless, Was this how restaurants operated now?
Placing the box on the table, his strikingly handsome expression tumed serious. “Get your manager in here. Now”
“What can I do for you, Mr. Quinn?” The manager opened the door almost instantly, his attitude formal and respectful. “What’s all this about? Jeremiah demanded, tossing the ring box toward the manager.
His displeasure was written all over his face. “Who told you to prepare this?”
The manager gave him a meaningful look, subtly winking.
Jeremiah leaned back in his chair. “Don’t think you can just gloss over this by pretending your eyes are uncomfortable ”
“Are you serious, Mr. Quinn?
Jeremiah raised an eyebrow. At this point, he was seriously starting to wonder if this was some kind of scam. Was the restaurant manager even thinking straight?
“These were specially prepared to enhance your dining experience with Ms. Smith,” the manager replied earnestly. “If you don’t like them, I can have them removed immediately.
“I’ve seen people prepare for plane and violin performances, but I’ve never seen anyone set up rings and roses.” Jeremiah stood up. He was genuinely angry now
“Do you think Ms. Smith would cheat or that I’m the kind of person who would destroy other people’s marriages?”
Aaron had been on the phone with the manager. He couldn’t help but be choked by Jeremiah’s words.
He instinctively glanced at Lean, who was still as calm as ever. “What do we do now? He just hit the main point.”
“Keep going Stick to the script.” Leon said, his gaze unchanged
Aaron el abu deflated. Given the current situation, even if the manager followed the plan, Victoria probably wouldn’t buy it. Once she looked into it, they’d be the obvious
“One last chance. Either you speak up, or I’ll tear this place apart.”
- Jeremiali stared hard at the manager, who was still pretending
The manager cautiously asked, “Really? You want me to tell you?!
Jeremiah’s glare sharpened. “Do I need to start smashing things to prove I’m serious?”
“This isn’t fair. Didn’t you ask us to prepare this The manager looked completely wronged as if he were the one being accused. “You said you wanted to confess your feelings to Ms. Smith on this special day that marked your reunion.”
“When did Dewn say that? show me proot.” Jeremiah wasn’t the type to scheme, but that didn’t mean he was naive. At this point, he knew he’d been set up.
“You had someone pass the message,” the manager sald with a straight face, handing over an Invoice.
“Here’s the receipt for the enement ring, purchased with the card you provided.TM
Jeremiah took the invoice and glanced at it before pulling out his phone. There were two transactions from his bank account listed
“Go back and tell whoever made;
le you do this to talk to me directly if they have the guis. Don’t resort to these petty tactics, Jeremiah tussed the scriptide, snerting, “Even if I do have feelings for Vicky–which I don’t–I’d never buy such a cheep ring.”
