Chapter 57
Leon planced sideways.
Aaron was shocked. He hadn’t meant to speak his mind out loud.
“What I mean is, the things you give are so special. Someone like me, who hasn’t done anything and can’t be of any help, doesn’t deserve them.” He quickly corrected himself, fearing that speaking too slowly would end badly for him
Leon responded slowly. “How could that be? Just your identity alone makes you worthy of ten times i
Aaron attempted to a
o argue, but he gave up when his eyes met Leon’s unfazed gaze. “I’m sorry.”
Henry cleared his throat.
“What’s so funny?” Aaron shifted the topic. “Do you think I can’t have your boss send you a hundred of these?
“Mr. Quigley is always fair and discemning. He won’t let external factors affect his decisions,” Henry said seriously. “Do you think he’d listen to malicious gossip?

weren’t for the gossip, he wouldn’t want to be stuck in this damn car for another second.
Henry drove for a while before asking, “Mr. Leon, Ms. Smith’s car is heading toward Mr. Edwin’s martial arts class. Would you and Mr. Buck like to head home or visit Mr. Edwin? “Of course, we’ll go visit Edwin,” Aaron answered on behalf of Leon. “I haven’t played with him since we got back
Henry glanced at Leon through the rear–view mirror, confirming Leon’s expression was normal before following Aaron’s instructions,
Meanwhile, Victoria was still in the car, not having arrived yet.
Sitting in the back seat, she stared out the window, momentarily distracted. For a brief moment, she had the strange feeling of being on a break from school and heading home. Her phone buzzed, and it was a message from Susie, “I forgot to mention something yesterday.”
Victoria replied. “What?”
Susie’s voice message came through. That cheap, narcissistic, hot–headed jerk is back.”
Victoria froze for a moment.
Jeremiah Quinn?
While pondering this, the car arrived at the martial arts venue where Edwin was. She paid the fare and got out, continuing her conversation with Susie as she typed away on her phone. Just as she was hallway through her message, a whirlwind–like figure sprinted toward her..
Before she could even see who it was, she was suddenly pulled into a warm, solid embrace as a faint fragrance enveloped her.
“Vicky!”
The man’s voice was playful and cheerful.
Victoria quickly pulled herself out of the embrace, only to be met by a sunny, handsome face. The man smiled with a charm that could not be denied, and he had a head of casually messy short hair, just like years ago.
“Ieremiah Victoria was taken aback.
Susie had just mentioned him, and now, he was standing before her.
Jeremiah removed his sunglasses, his lips forming a grin. Are you surprised? I spent quite a while planning this reunion”
“Yes, I am,” Victoria replied with sincerity. All her frustration from earlier in the day was instantly lifted.
Hehung his songlasses on the collar of his shirt. “I don’t see any surprise or shock in your expression. I’ll need a more impressive entrance to make you remember it forever next
