Chapter 5
Jordan grabbed a wine bottle and smashed it on Jason’s head, making the latter bleed profusely. He cried, “How can you compare me to Seraphine? She’s a woman, and I’m a man!” Jason clutched his injured forehead and looked at him in disappointment. He said, “From now on, you’re no longer my friend.”
nomen,
He got up and left without another look back
Jordan was unfazed. He continued drinking with the others and enjoying himself. He didn’t think losing a friend would affect him in any way,
The weather was great the following day. Jordan went to look for Jessica after waking up. He brought the luxury goods he’d bought last time,
Jessica’s attitude toward him remained cool, and her gaze was still as guileless as ever,
She looked at Jordan, who held the luxury goods in one hand and a cup of hot coffee in the other. She took the coffee without hesitation. It was still hot and warmed her palm as the chilly morning breeze blew around them. She supposed he was considerate enough.
“Why are you here so early?” she asked. She still didn’t smile, but her gaze was softer than before.
“These are for you.” He smiled and held out the luxury items.
Jessica frowned at the sight of them. She asked icily, “Do you think buying a few bags and some clothes is enough to win me over, Mr. Fray? What do you think I am?”
She took two steps back.
“You’ve got me wrong, Jessica! I know you’re not interested in these things; I just wanted to give them to you to make you happy,” Jordan hurriedly said. He persuaded and coaxed her for a while before she was willing to accept the things.
After pacifying her and making a date for a meal together, he drove to the York residence.
“What did you say, Mr. and Mrs. York? Seraphine stayed out the whole night?” Jordan stared at Seraphine’s parents, William York and Lisa Brown. He almost lost control of himself and blurted out a string of expletives.
“I’m sorry, Jordan. Sera doesn’t remember you now. You’ll have to be patient with her.” William and Lisa looked regretful.
“Call Seraphine, Mrs. York!” Jordan snarled, suppressing his rage.
Lisa did as told and found out where Seraphine was–a five–star hotel. Jordan was infuriated when he heard that and jumped into the car, heading straight there. He pounded on the door like a madman when he got to the room, startling the guests in the other rooms.
“Calm down, sir. I’ll have to call security if you continue like this,” the manager said.
Jordan slammed a fist on the door and vented his anger on the manager. He barked, “My girlfriend’s slept with another man! How do you expect me to calm down?”
He aimed his anger at me after that. “You’re a shameless slut, Seraphine! You don’t have the nerve to open the door because you have someone in there, right? Did you let that Stone bastard fuck you?”
He was going mad with rage. He and I had dated for three years, yet we’d never gone all the way. He couldn’t believe I’d slept with another man. He wanted to kill me and Damien. Before he could do anything, the police arrived.
I only dared to open the door once they were here. When I saw how Jordan was acting like a rabid dog, I hid behind the police and pointed at him. “This guy is insane. I don’t know him, but he harasses me every day!”
Jordan’s blood boiled at my words. His eyes were bloodshot as he shoved the police aside and charged into the room. He looked like he was close to murder. “The Stone bastard must be in here!”
