Chapter 32

Violet’s POV

I watched as Sof played on the merry go round. She was laughing and having the time of her life. Emily was on the horse next to hers while Ryan stood beside Sof, making sure she didn’t fall.

I couldn’t stop thinking about Jane and what Ryan told me about the Werewolf Council watching us. I couldn’t believe someone told them I was jealous of her because Ryan had a relationship with her before meeting me and would make up a lie about her attacking me.

I felt stupid for falling for Jane’s lies about wanting to be my friend. I should have known she was upset with me because Ryan had broken up with her. I guess I am the reason why they aren’t together and why he didn’t make her his Luna like he told her he would right before he met me. I should feel guilty for coming between them, but I didn’t, and if I was being truthful, I was happy Ryan chose me instead of her.

I still didn’t trust him all the way, but I was hoping that I would soon. I wanted him to prove to me he would treat Sof and me right. No one ever made me feel special or important. I never had anyone act like I was the most beautiful girl in the world, but Ryan made me feel like he believed I was, which made me happy.

giant wolf, and I was a human. I was never weak and always stood up for myself, but I was not stupid. I knew there was no way I could beat a giant wolf.

I hoped Jane would stay away from me and not hurt me. I believed Ryan would always protect me from her, but I also knew he wouldn’t be with me twenty four seven. Something told me Jane wanted me dead and would do anything to get what she wanted. I knew I needed to be careful. I was happy she was locked up in a cell at the moment, and hopefully, they could figure out a way to keep her away from me.

Sof ran up to me, taking me from my thoughts.

“Did you have fun?” I asked, and she nodded.

‘How about we go on one more ride and then head home?” Ryan said

“That sounds good. What do you want to ride, Sof?” I asked, and she pointed to a train ride.

“You want to ride with me on that,” Ryan asked me, pointing to the carousel.

“I have never been on there before,” I replied

“Well, how about you two go on the carousel, and I will take Sof on the train,” Emily said.

“Okay,” I replied, and Ryan and I got on the carousel.

“Thank you for coming here with me today,” Ryan said as the carousel started to move.

something with the both of us, and she is having so much fun. I love seeing her smile so much, and since moving to this town, she has been happier than I have ever seen her,” I replied, and Ryan smiled.

“My parents told me you left your father’s house with Sof because he was mistreating the both of you,” Ryan said

“Yeah, that’s true. My father isn’t a good man. He used to be until my mother passed away,” I replied

“What happened to your mother?” Ryan asked

“She passed away giving birth to Sof. He has been evil to us both ever since. I was the one that took care of Sof all through her childhood at a young age. He never treated her like his daughter,” I said

“That’s sad,” Ryan said

“Yeah, I couldn’t take the way he was treating me, and Sof was planning on leaving after I saved enough money, but then

something happened that made me have to leave earlier than planned,” I said

“What happened?” Ryan asked, and I sighed

“My father was planning on selling me to his boss,” I said, and Ryan growled. I looked at him before continuing, “There was no way in hell I was going with him, so I called my Best friend and told her we had to leave that night. We almost got caught because my father ran out of the house as we were getting in my best friend’s car. She hurried up and drove away,” I said.

Ryan and I were silent for a moment, looking out at the

amusement park. I felt Ryan’s hand on mine, making me feel the pleasurable tingles I only felt when he touched me. I looked at him to see him already looking at me.

“You are the most beautiful woman in the world and very brave and loving. I love the way you care about Sof. Not many would have taken care of their little sister at your age,” Ryan said

“She is the only family I have, and I love her more than anything in the world,” I replied, and Ryan smiled.

“I know, and I want you to know that I also care for Sof. I have told you this before, and I am going to say it again. I was an idiot for rejecting you because I thought Sof was your daughter. She is one of the most sweetest little girls in the world. I know it is still too soon, and you don’t fully trust me yet, but I want you to know that I plan on helping you raise Sof,” Ryan said, shocking me. For some reason, I felt he was telling the truth but didn’t know if it was smart for me to believe him so quickly, so I stayed quiet.
