Chapter 17
“Eva truly has Heaven’s blessing. Since she escaped disaster, we should do more charity work,” Kayden said decisively. “Let’s start with a 200–million–dollar donation. What do you think, honey?”
“I think that’s a great idea. Oh, there’s an auction in a few days. Let’s buy everything and give Eva a proper treat,” Eliza teplied.
Hand in hand with Evangeline, they enthusiastically discussed their plans.
Kayden and Eliza had built their empire from the ground up. With the vast resources of the Decker family, their grand gestures came effortlessly.
Over the next few days, the couple stayed close to Evangeline, showering her with love and care. Gradually, she began to rediscover herself.
With renewed strength, she decided to pursue her dream of writing scripts. It was something she had left unfinished in her previous world.
It didn’t take long for her to complete her first script in this world. The story revolved around themes of redemption and rebirth.
Next came the process of forming a team, casting actors, and starting production.
“Eva, just tell me which actor you want for the lead. I’ll get them for you!” Kayden said confidently.
Evangeline couldn’t help but laugh at his bravado. “Dad, talented actors value their reputation. You can’t just win them over with money. Besides, I want to achieve this on my own. Let me give it a shot.”
“Alright, but if you run into any problems, you come straight to me,” Kayden said.
Evangeline smiled and nodded. She put together a list of potential candidates, focusing on skilled actors who weren’t yet widely recognized. This would increase the chances of successful negotiations.
Her first stop was Galaxy Entertainment, where she had scheduled a meeting with her ideal male lead and his manager to discuss the script.
When Evangeline pushed open the conference room door, she was surprised to find Galaxy Entertainment’s top actor, Sterling Gill, sitting there instead. Sterling was an award–winning star.
Assuming she had entered the wrong room, Evangeline quickly apologized and turned to leave.
But Sterling stood up and walked over to her, holding her script in his hand.
“Ms. Decker, I heard you’re casting for the male lead. I really like this role. May I offer myself as a candidate?”
Evangeline looked up at him, pleasantly surprised.
Sterling was tall, with flawless features that carried a natural coolness, but his smile held a touch of warmth.
If she had been selecting purely on merit, Sterling was undoubtedly the perfect choice for the role.
However, Evangeline had planned to rely on her own steady efforts and hadn’t even considered someone as prominent as Sterling for the role.
But with Sterling extending an olive branch, she had no reason to refuse.
“Welcome aboard, Mr. Gill!” Evangeline said, beaming. “Shall we dive into the script?”
Sterling’s response was gentle. “Of course.”
Evangeline heaved a sigh of relief.
Rumors painted Sterling as an aloof and icy figure, but clearly, they were exaggerated. He seemed approachable enough.
With Sterling leading the cast, the small–budget short drama quickly attracted a star–studded ensemble.
The production wrapped in just three weeks. When the show launched, it shot to the top of every chart, becoming a massive hit.
Evangeline, in turn, gained recognition as a rising star in the screenwriting world.
Despite her newfound fame, her mindset remained steady as she began drafting her next script. This time, even before the script was finished, actors eager to play her role lined up one after another to recommend themselves.
Overwhelmed by the sheer volume, Evangeline hired an assistant to manage the chaos. Still, she couldn’t escape the “coincidental” encounters that seemed to follow her everywhere. One morning, while out for a jog, a young actor with chiseled abs suddenly collapsed in front of her. “What a coincidence, Ms. Decker! I twisted my ankle. Could you lend me a hand?” Before Evangeline could respond, a tall figure stepped forward and lifted the young man effortlessly.
“If you need help, you can ask me. Don’t trouble my girlfriend” Sterling’s gaze was sharp, and his expression carried a faint smile.
