Chapter 174 Time Will Give You the Answer
Grace Schneider stared at her phone, now disconnected, the screen back to black.
She stood there, unable to believe Sofia Schneider could be so cold
Tears streamed uncontrollably down her face.
to
her.
She covered her mouth tightly to stop herself from breaking down completely.
A car pulled up beside her, and the window rolled down to reveal Joseph Carter’s face.
Joseph had just finished some business nearby and noticed a familiar figure.
As he got closer, he realized he wasn’t mistaken–it was Grace.
Remembering what happened last night and hearing about Benson Schneider’s hospitalization, Joseph understood
g so hard.

He didn’t have much sympathy for the Schneider family, especially since they had hurt his teacher. If he could, he’d deal with them himself.
But seeing this young girl crying helplessly by the roadside, Joseph’s heart softened.
For the first time, he acted on his own, without asking his teacher.
He said to Grace, “Hey, get in the car.”
Grace didn’t even notice Joseph. Her vision was blurred, and her ears were ringing, drowning out all sound.
It wasn’t until Joseph grabbed her wrist and wiped away her tears that she looked at him, still speechless.
Joseph was at a loss. He had no clue how to comfort girls.
After a moment of hesitation, he chose the simplest method–he shoved Grace into the car.
They could talk once she calmed down.

Otherwise, people might think he was bullying her if they saw her crying on the street.
He buckled her seatbelt, stuffed a whole pack of tissues in her lap, and didn’t say a word or ask any questions.
He started the car and headed north with a clear destination in mind.
Once they were out of the city, Joseph sped up even more.
He rolled down the windows, letting the wind hit their faces.
Grace cried the whole way but eventually wore herself out.
Her eyes were so swollen she could barely open them, and her head felt like it was splitting.
But the warm wind was a bit comforting.
When Joseph finally stopped the car, Grace realized he had brought her to the top of a mountain
And it was a deserted one at that.
Grace pouted, thinking about Joseph’s connection to Sofia, and sobbed, “Are you going to push me off the mountain?”
Joseph didn’t expect her first words to be something like that.
He laughed, not angry, and said, “If you’re worried, I’ll give you a chance to push me off instead.”
Grace blinked, and for some reason, hearing Joseph say that made her feel better.
She got out of the car, walked to his side, and said, “You’re really weird, you know that?”
Joseph turned to look at her and asked, “So, are you still afraid I’ll push you off?”
Grace mumbled, feeling wronged, “Sofia doesn’t want me anymore. Didn’t she tell you to bring me here and get rid of me?”
Joseph didn’t know what had happened between her and Sofia. But given the current state of the Schneider family, he figured Sofia had completely cut ties with them.

Sofia did or said, she has her reasons. When you understand them, you can make your own choices.”
Joseph knew Grace had strong feelings for Sofia.
But Benson was her grandfather, and the Schneider family was where she lived.
Now, overnight, the Schneider family had collapsed, and Benson was in the hospital, his fate uncertain.
It wasn’t easy for Grace not to hold any resentment towards Sofia.
Whether they’d be friends or enemies in the future was uncertain.
All Joseph could do was give her a break from her troubles.
Grace said, “I just love my sister. Is that so wrong?
“Leave it to time. Time will give you the answer,” Joseph replied.
Grace pouted and stayed silent.
They stayed at the mountaintop for a long time before Grace said, “Take me back.
She had avoided things long enough. It was time to face them.
She needed to go to the hospital to see her grandfather. She couldn’t control other things, but she had to take care of him.
Joseph nodded, got back in the car, and drove her back.
Grace didn’t speak or cry on.

She just stared out the window, her eyes filled with coldness.
When they arrived at the hospital, Grace turned to Joseph and said, “Thank you for not hating me because I’m a Schneider.”
Joseph’s eyes softened. He couldn’t bring himself to be cold to her.
Grace said, “Can you give Sofia a message for me?”

She said, “I don’t know the truth, or why Sofia treats me like this, but she’ll always be my sister. I’ll make her like me again.”
Then Grace opened the car door and rushed into the hospital without looking back.
Joseph watched her slender figure disappear, feeling a mix of emotions.
He didn’t stay at the hospital. After Grace was out of sight, he started the car and drove
away.
After driving a while, he pulled over, took out his phone, and sent Sofia a message about what happened with Grace, including her message.
Joseph didn’t comment further. He just hoped the sisters wouldn’t become too estranged.
Grace was a sweet, innocent girl.
For no reason, he didn’t want to see her sad.
