Chapter 172 You Can’t Be So Stingy with Your Affection
Nathaniel Hart grabbed Sofia Schneider’s little fist and kissed it lightly.
He said, “Sofia, you’re so fierce, you’re scaring me a bit.”
Trying to play the frail character, Nathaniel spoke in a slightly aggrieved tone, as if Sofia was bullying him.
Sofia blinked her eyes and suddenly thought, Nathaniel is like a beautiful flower–white and pure, but with dark petals inside.
She moved aside and said, “From now on, don’t talk. I need to sleep. If you disturb me. I’ll punch you!”
Then, Sofia lay back down and pulled the blanket over her head.

He didn’t bother to lower his voice, laughing loudly and deliberately right next to Sofia’s

She weighed her feelings. Even though she threatened him with a beating, she didn’t really
want to hurt him.
Nathaniel finally stopped laughing. He leaned down, kissed Sofia through the blanket, and then lay back in his spot.
Sofia breathed a sigh of relief, but before she could fully relax, Nathaniel grabbed her hand under the blanket.
She struggled a bit, but then heard Nathaniel say, “Sofia, show me some care. I’m a man, and a man who loves you. You can’t be so stingy with your affection.”
Sofia thought about it and realized Nathaniel had a point.

She bit her lip and didn’t pull her hand back, letting Nathaniel hold her fingers.
The warmth from his touch made Sofia’s breathing go irregular.
Her focus was entirely on their intertwined fingers.
This was a new feeling for her, like an electric current spreading from her skin throughout her body, finally rooting in her heart.
Sofia could almost hear her heartbeat, pounding away.
She shifted her fingers uncomfortably, but Nathaniel just held on tighter.
She didn’t know that Nathaniel was also struggling.
As he said, Sofia was the woman he loved, lying right next to him.
If he didn’t have any other thoughts, sleeping peacefully beside her would be a real problem. After a while, Nathaniel heard Sofia’s even breathing.
He was almost angry enough to choke

Sofia had a very restful sleep, the longest since she had performed surgery on Nathaniel.

She didn’t feel Nathaniel next to her and looked over to find the bed empty.
Sofia was puzzled. She didn’t know when Nathaniel had left.
Normally, she was very sensitive to her surroundings.
As she thought about it, her phone on the nightstand lit up.
She reached for it and saw a message from Selena Swift.
“Sofia, someone is taking down the Schneider family,” Selena said.
Sofia was stunned, then looked towards Nathaniel’s side of the bed.
He wasn’t there, so…
Sofia replied to Selena, “Then we should stop our actions for now.”
“But Sofia, we were so close,” Selena replied.
Sofia said, “Do as I say.”

Nathaniel was probably helping her get back at them. Since he was doing this, how could she not cooperate?
Sofia smiled unconsciously, got out of bed, and decided to see what Nathaniel was up to.
Just then, the door opened.
Nathaniel walked in and saw her standing by the bed. “What are you doing?” he asked.
Sofia, without thinking, said, “Going to the bathroom.”
She didn’t know why she suddenly felt the need to lie.
Nathaniel said, “I thought you were awake.”
He knew about Sofia’s sleep habits; she usually only needed two hours. Today she had slept almost double that.

Sofia faked a yawn and said, “Who said that? I just need to use the bathroom, then I’ll go back to sleep.”
With that, she didn’t rush to the bathroom but moved closer to Nathaniel and asked, “Why aren’t you sleeping?”
She was sure that Nathaniel hadn’t slept before she did.
He had been playing with her fingers.
Nathaniel couldn’t tell Sofia that her presence made him restless, wanting to do something, which kept him awake.
He said, “I’ve been sleeping too much lately.”
Sofia squinted her eyes, her gaze dangerous, “Mr. Hart, that’s not being obedient.”
Nathaniel put
his hand on Sofia’s shoulder, turned her around, and said, “Go to the bathroom, I’ll wait for you.”
Sofia felt a rush of warmth, quickly running into the bathroom.
Sitting on the toilet, Sofia didn’t actually need to go.
She opened her phone and checked the heavy blows the Schneider group was suffering.
She had to admit, in such an unguarded situation, the Schneider family was utterly doomed.
Sofia was almost looking forward to seeing Benson Schneider’s reaction in the morning.
