Chapter 23
Even the bodyguards holding onto Nelly instinctively loosened their grip upon hearing the voice.
All eyes turned to see Matthew stride toward Nelly. He looked like a king with the two rows of bodyguards flanking him
His dark eyes gleamed like onyx, exuding an air of aristocratic arrogance. The black stud earring on his left ear added an air of mystery. His perfectly tailored black suit accentuated his towering figure.
Although the mask concealed his face, it couldn’t hide the enigmatic charm that drew everyone’s attention.
The onlookers were stunned by the unexpected arrival. They instinctively knew that this was a man they dared not cross.
Upon seeing this scene, Sandra, Casey, and Giselle seethed with frustration. They had been so close to succeeding, only for this uninvited guest to ruin everything
Romeo frowned as he regarded Matthew with hostility.
Nelly looked at Matthew with tears of
f grievance rolling down her cheeks. He was the one who always appeared to save her in her darkest moment. “Mister,” Nelly murmured as she choked back a sob. Her vulnerable expression was utterly heart–wrenching
The sight made a surge of protective instinct welled up in Matthew. He quickly strode forward to Nelly.
When Frost informed him that Nelly was attending Giselle’s engagement ceremony, he immediately stopped his work and rushed over. Unfortunately, he was still a stop too late, as Nelly had already suffered injustice.
He stopped forward and pulled her into a comforting embrace.
“Mister, I don’t want to go to the police station. I didn’t steal anything.” Nelly explained in a crying voice.
Stanley shot Matthew a sharp glare. He was emboldened by the assumption that Matthew was an unfamiliar presence in Megham
“I’m disciplining my daughter. Please leave,” he said in a demanding tone.
Matthew ignored him. When he noticed the red swelling mark on Nelly’s cheek, fury flickered in his eyes as if he were ready to destroy the world. “Who hit you?” Matthew’s voice edged with anger
“My dad,” Nelly replied, sobbing
Matthew turned his key gaze toward Stanley. “How dare you hir my woman,” he said icily.
Stanley flinched instinctively at his words but quickly regained his arrogant demeanor.
“She’s my daughter. I can discipline her however I want. It’s none of your business,” Stanley retorted disdainfully
“Frost, cripple the hands of the two bodyguards who laid hands on Ellie earlier, Matthew commanded mercilessly. “Got it,” Frost replied obediently.
The bodyguards were no match for Frost and his men. Before long, the hall echoed with screams of pain.
Nelly looked at Matthew with worry. She didn’t want him to get dragged into trouble because of her
“Mister, you should leave. I don’t want to cause you any trouble,” she said urgently,
Upon hearing her words, Matthew felt a hint of warmth bloom in his heart. He gently caressed her cheeks. Then, he said in a soft and reassuring tone, Don’t worry.”
Watching the scene unfold, Romeo and Giselle felt complex emotions whirling inside them.
“You might have no id
but Nelly is a thiet,” Sandra interjected tauntingly
Marthew’s expression darkened instantly as a menacing air radiated from his cold gaze
“Frost, drag her out. Also, make sure the Pittman Group doesn’t exist after tomorrow.” Matthew’s tone was devoid of mercy.
