Clover sighed, placing her hand on her forehead, and then looked at Nelly, whose mouth was stuffed with food. She looked utterly exasperated.

Harper’s introduction to Nelly had been through Clover. Back when he frequently video–called Clover, Nelly had occasionally appeared in the background. Over time, they got to know each other.
After finishing her meal, Nelly leaned back, patting her round belly. “Wow, I’m so full,” she said contentedly,

Watching the two leave, Harper shook his head helplessly.

At this, a flicker of sadness appeared in Nelly’s eyes.
“Nelly,” Clover said softly.
“I know. I’ll go tomorrow. I want to prove to them that I can live just as well without them,” Nelly said with calm determination
Seeing this resolute side of Nelly, Clover pulled her into a comforting hug. “If you want to cry, just cry,” she said gently.
“I don’t want to cry,” Nelly replied with a pout.
“Alright, no crying. I’ll go with you tomorrow so they won’t have a chance to bully you,” Clover said firmly.
Nelly pulled away from Clover’s embrace, her big, bright eyes full of warmth as she looked at her.
