“Of course, I’m fine. I’m doing well,” Nelly replied, her voice steady and emotionless
“Goselle, you stole someone’s boy friend and are now pretending to care? That’s rich,” Clover shot back coldly.
“Clover, don’t make baseless accusations. Romeo loves Giselle,” Sandra said, feigning innocence.
“Exactly.” Casey chimed in with agreement
“By the way, the
e day after tomorrow is Giselle and Romeo’s engagement party. As her little sister, you better make sure to attend,” Sandra added with a mocking tone.
“Don’t worry. My girl Nelly will definitely be there,” Clover replied firmly.
Really, Nelly? I truly hope to receive your blessing,” Giselle said, her voice dripping with stugness.
Nelly didn’t answer but ragged on Clover’s sleeve.
“Let’s go,” she said softly.
“Okay” Clover nodded.
As they walked past, Clover deliberately bumped into Giselle, causing her to stagger.
“Giselle, are you okay? Sandre asked with concem.
“I’m fine,” Giselle replied weakly, though a trace of malice flashed in her eyes.
“This is too much! Giselle, when you have y

engagement party, I swear I’ll make sure Nelly is humiliated,” Casey said venomously.
Giselle only responded with a faint smile, but internally, she was brimming with satisfaction. She had always aimed to trap Nelly, though Nelly always managed to escape unscathed.

Meanwhile, on the top floor of Psyros Group- the symbol of absolute power–a knock came on the door of the office.
“Come in,” Matthew’s icy voice commanded.
“Mr. Yorke,” Kai greeted respectfully as he entered.
“What’s the update?” Matthew asked, looking up
“After a full investigation, we discovered the man is the head of Winchester Group,” Kai reported. “Because the Loftin family’s company is facing some financial trouble, Ms. Albright’s father intends to marry her off to Mr. Winchester in exchange for 100 million dollars.”

“Yes, sir. And what about the Loftin Group?” Kai asked.

Matthew tapped his fingers rhythmically on the desk. “Does our company have any collaborations with them in Megham?”
Psyros Group had too many partnerships; Matthew needed clarification.
“Yes, we do, and also with the Jenner family. They’re quite influential in Megham,” Kai replied respectfully.
Matthew’s eyes turned colder upon hearing about the Jenner family. “Terminate all collaborations with the Jenner Group immediately,” he ordered. “Yes, sir. And the Lattin Group?” Kai asked
“They’ve been too quiet,” Matthew said with a sly smile.
Kai instantly understood his intentions, “Got it, sir.”
Matthew handed Kai a document. “This is already signed. Ensure the materials for this batch are flawless. No mistakes are allowed.”
“Yes, sir,” Kai responded, taking the file and exiting the office
Matthew returned to his work. Barely five minutes had passed when his computer screen lit up with an incoming video call. The image of a handsome man appeared, his tan complexion standing out.

Matthew put down his pen and studied the man, looking amused. “You want to come back now?”
“Yes! Look at my face! It’s practically burned from the sun!” The man pointed to his tanned face, almost on the verge of tears.
“Fine, come back,” Matthew said calmly.
“Yes! Finally, I can leave this godforsaken place!” the man cheered.
Matthew hung up the video call without another word and returned to his work.
Since there were no classes that day, Clover and Nelly decided to go shopping
“I can’t believe I had such horrible taste. How did I not see through Romeo, that scumbag, and Giselle, that tramp?” Clover ranted.
Nelly turned to look at her, exasperated. “Clover, you’ve been complaining the whole way. Aren’t you tired of it?”
Clover stopped and looked at Nelly seriously. “Nelly, aren’t you even a little upset?”
the use of being upset? If he broke up with me and chose Giselle, it just means I’m not good enough,” Nelly said, her voice calm and indifferent.

Though Clover’s words were meant to comfort her, they would soon become prophetic.
As Nelly listened, her mind drifted to thoughts of Matthew. She shook her head quickly to dispel them..

“I’m hungry,” Nelly replied sheepishly.
Clover’s lips twitched. “How did I end up with a friend like you?”
Suddenly, her phone interrupted their conversation.
“Hey, Harper,” she answered.
“Hey, Clov, I’m back! Come over!” Harper Reagen’s excited voice came through the line.
