Chapter 14
Matthew slowly tightened his grip on the trigger. Though his expression was hidden behind the mask, the Intense and deadly air raduating from him was mough for everyone present to feel his overwhelming rage.
The gun was aimed at Abraham’s foot, and without hesitation, Matthew pulled the trigger.
“Ah!“” Abraham’s scream echoed through the hall, sharp and grating like a pig being slaughtered.
The gunshot thundered like a roar, startling everyone in the club Curious onlookers poured out of the private rooms and crowded around the staircase to see what was happening.
When they smy Abraham writhing in pain on the floor, they assumed Matthew and his group were part of the mob
In one of the private rooms, Giselle was roused from her sleep by the commotion nutside.
“What’s all that noise? Sandra asked, curious.
“Yeah, let’s go check it out,” Casey suggested eagerly.
Romeo, who had also just woken up, gave Giselle a tender smile. “Let’s see what’s going on, and
“Alright.” Giselle nodded obediently.
(I’ll take you home,” he said gently.
Sandra and Casey followed Giselle down. They were also very curious about what happened. Even the police had been called.
When they reached the lobby, they saw Matthew beating Abraham to a pulp
Giselle’s heart sank. She noticed Abraham’s battered body but couldn’t spot Nelly anywhere.
“Wow, Sandra, look at those guys! They’re so handsome. I’m swooning,” Casey said, starry–eyed.
“I see them,” Sandra replied, hearts practically dancing in her eyes as well.
“Why is that one wearing a mask, though? their male classmate asked, confused
“He’s probably ugly!” Sandra said with disdain.
“Alright, Giselle, there’s nothing to see here. It’s just some gang light. Let’s go home,” Romeo said firmly.
Although Giselle desperately wanted to see Nelly’s downfall, she couldn’t refuse Romeo’s insistence.
“Alright,” she replied. Then added, “Sandra, Casey, I’ll treat you two to a meal soon.
“Okay, we’re heading out too,” Sandra replied.
Romeo and the group left the club. As they exited, Romeo glanced back and locked eyes with Matthew. The icy Idilling intent in Matthew’s gaze and the faint, mocking smile on his lips left an unsettling impression on him.
as sharp as a blade. Turning to Quentin, he said coldly, “This
Matthew, on the other hand, lowered his eyes back to Abraham lying on the floor, his gaze as shar is your territory. You’d better handle it, or I’ll tear down this club”
“Don’t worry, I’ve got this,” Quentin replied confidently, patting his chest. Knowing Matthew never made empty threats, he hurriedly took action.
As the crowd dispersed, Abraham, still moaning in pain, was dragged away by Kai.
Just like that, the spectacle concluded. This dramatic event would undoubtedly dominate Megham’s headlines tomorrow.
Returning to the private room, Matthew carefully cradled Nelly in his arms. He gently brushed his hand against her cheek, his eyes filled with tendemess
“I’m taking you home,” he murmured, his voice low and resolute
Damien and Julian silently followed him out, their expressions grim.
Upon arriving at Baychest Villa,
Villa, Quentin Iminediately retrieved the medical kit and examined Nelly.
“Damn it, who could be so cruel to drug her?” he exclaimed, his voice tinged with anger.
“Antidote,” Matthew demanded coldly.
Seeing how anxioun Matthew was, Quentin fetched a small vil from the kit. Using a syringe, he administered the antidote to Nelly.
“Good thing I brought the medicine I personally developed. Orwise, she would’ve been in serious trouble,” Quentin said gravely.
At that moment, Patty entered the room, carrying a set of Nelly’s pajamas.
Matthew usually forbade anyone from entering his bedroom, but he made an exception this time because of Nelly”

“Mr. Yorke, I’ll help Ms. Albright wash up,” Patty said respectfully.
“Be careful,” Matthew replied in his usual low tone,
“Yes, sir,” Patty responded respectfully.
Matthew watched her for a moment before heading downstairs to the living room. He lit a cigarette. Though he wasn’t a regular smoker, the stress of the situation drove him to it.
“Mart, Julian and I were only gone for two weeks. What happened?” Damien asked seriously.
“Yeah, spill,” Julian urged.
Quentin sat nearby. Although he knew part of the story, he didn’t dare speak up.
“You’ve seen it already,” Matthew replied curtly.
Damien and Julian exchanged tense looks, their expressions darkening
“Your status doesn’t allow for this,” Julian said solemnly.
“That woman saved Matthew’s life,” Quentin suddenly interjected.
“What?” Damian asked, his shock evident.
“When Matt was ambushed and injured, she was the one who saved him,” Quentin explained.
“But what if this was a setup? What if the enemy planted her near Matt to gain his trust?” Julian countered. He knew Matthew well and didn’t want him to repeat past mistakes.
“You’re overthinking it,” Quentin said dismissively.
Damien leaned back on the couch. “So, it seems you’ve made up your mind about her.”
“Nelly Albright will be my wife. The lady of the Yorke family,” Matthew said abruptly.
Damien and Julian stared at him in shock while Quentin remained unperturbed. From what he had observed, this was only a matter of time.
“Matt, are you sure about this?” Damien asked seriously..
Matthew stubbed out his cigarette and looked at them. “Yes”

“Well, if you’re that determined, what else can we say?” Julian chuckded slightly.
“Matt, you are totally robbing the cradle,” Quentin teased
Matthew’s face turned pale. Age was something he had never cared about until now.
“So, what?” he replied coldly.
“Are you not worried she might not agree?” Damien asked, laughing lightly. Matthew’s lips curved into a faint smile upon hearing their words.
