“Are you really okay with this? Do you even realize that you’ve made yourself vulnerable? The more you get involved, the harder it will be to pull away. Doesn’t that scare you?” Quentin asked seriously,
“So what? I’ll do everything I can to protect her.” Matthew responded coldly. For some reason, he didn’t hesitate to make such vows.
“Are you serious?” Quentin asked.
“Of course I am,” Matthew said firmly.
“okay, now that you’ve fallen for someone, it seems like you’ve forgotten about the past. And it looks like that young lady is about to become my sister- in–law. But honestly, the huge age gap feels weird to me,” Quentin said casaully.
“okay, if you have no business here, go home,” Matthew said, trying to get Quentin to leave.
“You always do this. You cast me aside after using me,” Quentin complained with a pout. But upon seeing Marthew’s expression, he quickly dropped the
“How’s your injury? Is it healing properly?” he asked.
“It’s fine, Matthew replied coolly
“Oh, I almost forget,” Quentin said “Damien and Julian are coming back tomorrow, and they’re inviting us to hang out. Are you in?”
“Depends
“Alright I’m going to leave now.”
After Quentin lett, Matthew went to the guest room to freshen up.
By now, the maids were done giving Nelly a bath. They lay her on the bed to rest.
Matthew walked out of the bathroom, wiping his hair with a towel. He noticed Kai standing outside, waiting for him.
The two men headed to the study. Matthew sat down while Kai remained standing.
“What did you find?”
“Matthew asked.
“I’ve found out that Nelly Albright is the second daughter of the Albright family, who owns the Albright Group. Her mother passed away when she was very young. Her father remarried and had another daughter. Her life has been rough ever since, and eventually, she moved out,” Kai reported
“What else?” Matthew asked coldly.
“Ms. Albright returned home today because her father’s company was experiencing problems,” Kai continued. “He wanted to marry her off to an old man. Ms. Albright refused, so she ran out of the house. Also, her stepsister stole her boyfriend from her, and they’re about to get engaged soon.”
Kai hesitated while reporting, as Matthew’s expression darkened with each word.
“Who is that guy?” Matthew asked coldly.
Kai had been with Matthew long enough to know who exactly he was asking about. “It’s Romen Jenner from the Jenner Group.”
Mathew scoffed. “Since he abandoned Nelly, I’ll make her the happiest woman in the world.”
Hearing those words, Kal realized that Matthew had already fallen in love with Nelly.
“What should I do text, Mr. York?‘ he asked.
“I’ll ask Nelly about that later,” Matthew replied.
“Yes, Mr. Yorke.” Kai nodded.
Matthew glanced at his watch and turned to Kai. “It’s getting late. Go get some rest.”
Yes, Mr. Yurke,” Kai replied and left the study.
Once alone, Matthew took out his phone and dialed a number.
“Hey, I’ve seal you some measurements. Get me all the limited edition clothes, shoes, accessories, and handbags. I want them delivered by tomorrow.” Matthew ordered coldly, Without waiting for a response, he hung up and quietly returned to his room.
His gaze fell un Nelly in his bed, and he smiled. The light hit his golden mask, making the golden dragon on it appear realistic. As he looked at her, his

He quickly returned to her side and held her hand. “Nelly. Nelly,” be called.
“Please don’t do this to me. I don’t want to marry that old man. Please. I’ve already moved out because of you Don’t hurt me anymore,” she said, still
askop, her ears streaming down her face
“Don’t worry. 111 protect you from now on Whoever dares to hurt you, I will make their life hell,” Matthew said, determined.
