Chapter 83
“Torget about it. Let’s just go with our original plan,” Wilson said impatiently.
Daphne thought it was amusing. “I’m glad you can go along with a that casually but I’m still curious. What made you change your mind so suddenly?
“Because I want to end this marriage as soon as possible. The assets aren’t that important in me. I just want to give Yvonne a proper identity. She can’t feel aggrieved anymore.”
“Very well. I hope you can keep your promise and stop playing tricks. Let’s meet at the courthouse at 10:00 am sharp tomorrow!”
After that, Daphne ended the call with gritted teeth. When Wilson first hired a Lawyer to redistribute the assets, she was determined to buy some time until he compromised first.
She had already circled the date when they would collect the divorce certificate, and she didn’t take the initiative to contact Wilson first because she believed he would give in first. After all, Yvonne was in a bigger hurry than Daphne. So, everything went according to Daphne’s predictions.
Daphne should feel happy about it because she had won. However, she still felt a little hart when she heard Wilson say that Yvonne couldn’t feel aggrieved anymore. After all, why would wonne feel aggrieved?
When there were rumors going around saying Daphne had a sugar daddy, Wilson never stood up for her. The rumors only stopped when they got married. On the other contrary, he always protected Wonne. So, Daphne should be the one feeling aggrieved instead.
Thinking how ridiculous it was, Daphne chuckled self–mockingly. However, it didn’t matter anymore. To her, being able to take half of Wilson’s assets and bid him farewell forever was the best ending she could’ve asked for
Daphne woke up early in the morning the next day, and it was a beautiful day for her. She played some uplifting music on her phone while applying makeup. Then, she put on a pink dress that looked elegant and dazzling
Looking in the mirror, she was really satisfied with how she looked. Then, she suddenly thought of something and sent Sebastian a message.
“It’s a great day today because I’ll be collecting my divorce certificate. If you’re free, would you like to witness the moment with me, Mr. Turner?”
Her message sounded cheeky, and Sebastian replied to her message immediately, “I’ll be happy to.” When she saw his reply, her mood improved further
The weather that day wasn’t actually that good as the skies were covered with gray clouds. Usually, Daphne’s mood would definitely be affected by such a sight. However, it felt like asunny day to her at that moment, and there wasn’t a single cloud in her mind
No matter how bad her life was, there would always be someone to be there for her. Sebastian arrived at her home on time, and when he saw her happily walking out, he felt happy as well
“You’re that happy, huh?” he said while reaching out to ruffle her hair.
Daphne coyly avoided his hand and glared at him. “Don’t touch my hair. I spent more than an hour setting it!
“Alright! No–touching the great celebrity’s hair. Got it! So, shall we leave now? Sebastian chuckled as he opened the car door and buckled her seatbelt for her. After that, he got in the driver’s seat and started driving
While they were on the read, Daphne passionately told Sebastian everything bad about Wilson. She even said how bland Wilson was for protecting Yvonne, and she kept on yapping about it.
