Chapter 63
Seizing the moment, Daphne bit down on Wilson’s hand. Caught off guard by the pain, Wilson reflexively shoved her.
As she was wearing two–inch heels, Daphne lost her balance from the push. Her body tilted back, and the back of her head slammed into the concrete wall of the underground parking lot. She felt an intense burst of pain as it a large chunk of her scalp had been torn away.
Dizziness evertook her, and her vision went dark within e
moments. Then, she completely lost consciousness.
Like a lifeless ragdoll, her body slid limply down the wall until she collapsed onto the floor
The sudden turn of events startled Wilson. When he looked up, Daphne was already slumped on the ground.
Frowning disdainfully, he complained, “Daphine, stop pretending. I know acting is your forte. Are you using this to gain sympathy and play the victim?
When Sebastian heard Wilson harassing Daphne on the phone, he rushed out of his house, worried sick. The phone call hadn’t been disconnected, so he had heard every word of Wilson’s trade against Daphne.
When he arrived, he caught sight of Wilson pushing Daphne just as she fell
Fury surged through Sebastian, his blood boiling. Without hesitation, he drove his fist into Wilson’s face.
Unprepared, Wilson hit the ground too.
Sebastian glared coldly at Wilson, his eyes blazing with anger. “Wilson, is this what your parents taught you? To lay hands on a woman?
Then, he knelt beside Daphne, carefully cradling her in his arms. His voice was laced with worry as he said, “Daph, wake up.
Seeing Sebastian cradling Daphne, his sharp gaze narrowed. “She claimed she was here to bomow haute couture for Yvonne, but she was meeting you instead. Of course, she lied
to me.”
Sebastian ignored him. Seeing that Daphne wasn’t responding, he gently patted her cheeks. “Daphne, say something. Are you okay? Where are you hurt?
Wilson slowly got back on his feet, wiping blood from his split lip “Sebastian, are you stupid or naive? You’re really falling for this? I know Daphne’s tricks all too well after being with her for so many years. She loves to act weak to evoke sympathy and make people soften up. What could possibly be wrong with her?”
Daphne stirred slightly in Sebastian’s arms, regaining some consciousness. Amid the blurred voices, one sounded familiar.
Was it Sebastian? Why was he here?
Weakly, the murmured, “My head. I hit my head.”
Sebastian immediately felt the back of her head with gentle precision. Sure enough, he found a swollen kip. It was bad, and there might even be internal bleeding. Sebastian couldn’t help but shout as he glared at Wilson, “What a bastard! Wilson, how dare you hit a woman? Are you even a man? You’re just like a beast!”
“Sebastian, myhead hurts a lot. I feel a little nauseous…!
Sebastian had been ready to settle things with Wilson, but Daphine’s condition was bad. Scooping her up, he reassured her, “Let’s go. I’m taking you to the hospital. Don’t be scated Everything will be fine”
Daphne nodded faintly at his words. As they passed by Wilson, she rugged on Sebastian’s arm, signaling him to stop. Suppressing the nausea rolling inside her, she fixed her cold, piercing gaze on Wilson, whose expression was unteadable. “Wilson, Fwon’t forget what happened today. The debts you owe me are countless, and I’ll make you pay up every single one.”
