Chapter 52
The timing was perfect.
Daphne deliberately put on a fresh and radiant makeup look, radiating the charm of a bright and beautiful lady. It had been years since she felt this carefree
She was a cheertal and bright persen bynature. Her true nature remained the same whether in pastor present lives.
Wilson and Yvonne were the ones who had forced her into the sharp–edged and combative person she became. It was a version of herself that even she could barely recognize.
She looked at her reflection in the mirror and smiled in satisfaction.
This was her troesell
She was warm and radiant like the sun in fall. She was kind, sincere, and approachable.
Sebastian was momentarily stunned when be knocked on her door and saw her. Duphine caught the flash of admiration in his eyes and shyly backed a loose strand of hair behind her car. “Do I look weird dressed like this?”
Sebastian regained his senses and gave her a genuine compliment. “Not at all You look amazing
“Good. Let’s go then, Sebastian,” She smiled brightly, her large eyes sparkling like stars
The dinner was held at a serene prirate club. This was a popular spot for business moguls and celebrities to host discreet events. Privacy was paramount,
was reserved
Daphne and Wilson used to frequent the place when they were together. They came here so often that Wilson had arranged a private suite exclusively for her, which was War–round. It was her first time returning since her divorce.
However, Ava looked slightly embarrassed and whispered an apology to her, “Daph, about your old private suite. Wilson transferred the usage rights to Yvonne. We can’t access it anymore. I’m sorry. I didn’t know the manager here was so quick to switch sides and suck up to power”
“It’s alright. This industry is full of people who worship power and trample on the weak let’s just book another suite. She wasn’t going to let something so trial run her good mood.
Yvonne appeared just as they were about to arrange for another suite. She was accompanied by four or five influencers with the same surgery–enhanced faces. They were constantly hovering and buzzing around Daphne like an annoying fly that was impossible to shoo away.
“Well, look who’s here. Ms. Yeager, are you here for dinner too?”
Daphne rolled her eyes and couldn’t be bothered to waste her breath on her. “Do I know you that well?”
Surprisingly, Yvonne didn’t lose her temper when Daphne snapped at her. Instead, she looked rather pleased.
“Ms. Yeager, you probably don’t know yet. Will has transferred the long–term usage rights for that suite to me. He personally made the call to arrange it” Her voice dripped with mockery and smugness.
The influencers around her immediately chined in, catching on to her tone and seizing the opportunity to mock Daphne.
“She probably still thinks she’s Mr. Farrell’s wille. Let me tell you, Yvonne will be his future wife. Mr. Farrell treats her like a queen, giving her anything she wants. Unlike some people who won’t even get a glance from him now.”
“I can’t imagine how she still dares to come here. I’m sorry, but that suite belongs to Yvonne now. Some people should just know their place and leave!”
Ever since Dephine’s rise to four, she hadn’t been subjected to such humiliation
She was a household name, an A–list star who was always treated as an honored guest wherever she went without relying on Wilson’s influence
She couldn’t believe these ignorant nobodies dared to mock her over a sulle now she had no intention of tolerating such treatment.
