Daphne sat in Sebastian’s car, her mind still replaying Wilson’s words, “Stop playing dumb”
It was almost laughable. He actually thought she was pretending? Please. She was a busy, high-
profile celebrity, juggling work and drama with her fair share of challenges. Forgetting a thing or
two was totally normal, right?
The table at the restaurant was filled with food Sebastian had prepared for her. Daphne glanced at
him, feeling a bit quilty for always relying on him. I’m sorry for bothering you again. It seems like
every time I see you, you’re always stepping in to help me.”
Sebastian didn’t seem bothered. The smile tugging at his lips was impossible to hide. “You called me Sebastian today. And in front of so many people too.”
Was this seriously what Sebastian was focused on? After all the drama, he was more concerned
with that.
His way of thinking always shocked her.
“Your focus is really something else,” Daphne couldn’t help but comment.
Sebastian rested his chin on his hand, his eyes dark and intent on her face. “I only focus on what I
want to focus on.”
Damn, that was smooth.
With Sebastian’s looks, it was getting hard to resist
Daphne’s heart skipped a beat.
She pretended to be interested in the food in front of her to distract herself. “Wow, this looks amazing. They’re all my favorite dishes.”
Sebastian grinned. “Of course. I’ve done my homework. I know that celebrities need to maintain
their figures, so I’ve calculated the calories. Don’t worry, you’re good to eat.”
“Such attention to detail?” Daphne paused, her cutlery hovering over the food. It reminded her of
the times Wilson used to do this for her. But things were different now. He had changed.
Suddenly, she lost her appetite.
When they were nearly finished, Sebastian patted Daphne on the head. “You’ve had a long day. Let
me take you home.”
Daphne nodded, sending him the address to her apartment.
When Sebastian saw it, he raised an eyebrow, a bar ly noticeable smile curving his lips.
She had bought that apartment before her marriage, and after she destroyed Wilson’s villa, she moved back there.
The apartment was in a somewhat secluded area, and it felt almost empty now. She had noticed that there weren’t many people around anymore, which was surprising since it used to be a lively place when she first bought it.
Wilson’s compensation villa at Lakeside Estates was poorly decorated, so she planned to tear it down and rebuild it. For now, this apartment served as her temporary place.
As they arrived in the apartment complex, Daphne thanked Sebastian, “We’re here. Thanks for bringing me back.”
But Sebastian didn’t leave. Instead, he got out of the car and followed her.
“I don’t need you to walk me in,” Daphne said politely, not quite understanding why he was following her.
But Sebastian locked the car and, in one smooth motion, said, “Who said I was walking you in? I live here too.”
Daphne’s jaw dropped. “You live here?”
Since moving in, she hadn’t encountered a single neighbor, so she had assumed the area was practically abandoned. But the first neighbor she ran into turned out to be Sebastian. That was unexpected.
