Chapter 11 After Divorce
The scandal of Chaim and Serena had been posted online for three days. Those who had once mocked Samara for overestimating herself all felt that Samara was a little pitiful.
Eric ordered Chaim to find Samara by whatever means. However, Reid could not find where Samara had gone after leaving Chicago.
As for Samara’s Twitter account, other than the apology that she had posted on the day she left, all the previous posts had been deleted, and there were no more posts after
that.
The picture of the apology was the divorce papers of Samara and Chaim. Many people found Samara’s Twitter account and followed her. The number of Samara’s followers had risen by more than two million in just a few days.
However, Samara seemed to have disappeared. All of her phone cards and bank cards in Chicago had been canceled. The last clue that could be found was that Samara bought a plane ticket on September 20th and went to Houston. However, when he arrived in Houston, Reid could no longer find any clues about Samara.
Reid searched Houston for a whole week, but still found nothing. He could only go back to Chicago to find Chaim. “Mr. Humphrey, I can’t find any information about Ms.
Novak.”
Chaim’s face suddenly darkened, and his eyes were cold. “Do you mean that Samara, who married me for three years, once suddenly appeared and now suddenly disappeared?”
Reid broke out in a cold sweat. “Mr. Humphrey, I am also confused.”
It was as if something had stabbed Chaim’s heart. Chaim was so angry that he laughed.
“If that’s the case, I would rather believe that she is dead now.
After Chaim finished speaking, he glanced coldly at Reid. “Get out!”
Reid didn’t dare to continue staying here. He nodded, bent over, and hurriedly left.
The door closed, leaving only Chaim in the huge office.
He stood in front of the floor–to–ceiling window for a while before turning back to his chair. He glanced at a cute cat porcelain ornament on the table. His eyes turned cold, and he raised his hand to throw the porcelain into the garbage bin.
Chaim was annoyed.
Three months later.
In Chicago Hill Hotel.
Samara and her secretary, Jimena Caldwell, had just taken their seats when they heard the person in front of them say, “Mr. Humphrey.”
There were not many people with the surname Humphrey in Chicago. Samara subconsciously turned around to take a look. Sure enough, the person who came was her ex–husband Chaim.
It seemed that he was the mysterious guest.
Frederick Jensen, who was at the side, stood up with a smile. “Mr. Humphrey, nice to meet you here. This is Ms. Novak of Elephant Group.
Hearing her name, Samara raised her eyebrow. She got up and looked at the
cold–looking man in front of her. She extended her hand and smiled, “Mr. Humphrey, glad to meet you.”
Their eyes met.
