Chapter 1 He Doesn’t Believe Her
Eric Humphrey’s 80th birthday banquet was held in Chicago. A lot of guests came over to celebrate his birthday.
However, a sudden scream came from the garden, and everyone was shocked.
Some people recognized that it was the voice of Serena Dawson. Her husband was the eldest son of the Humphrey family and he was already dead. Serena was carrying his posthumous child. The Humphrey family rushed to the garden.
In the open–air pool, two people were struggling in the pool. Everyone saw that.
Before everyone could react, Chaim had jumped into the pool and carried Serena, who was struggling, ashore.
At this time, the others also realized what had happened. A security guard rushed over and saved Samara.
When Samara went back to the Humphrey’s place, she was wet all over. But none of the servants paid any attention to her.
No one cared how she came back, and no one cared whether she was fine.

Chaim looked at her and sneered, “Explain to Grandpa!”
Samara suddenly sobered up. She gritted her teeth and endured the pain in her body. “What do you mean, Chaim?”

Chaim dragged her out without looking at her. “Go to the memorial hall.”
Chaim did not want to say a word to Samara. Not long after Serena was sent to the hospital, she lost the child.
The child in Serena’s belly was the only offspring Chaim’s brother left in the world. Now, the child was gone. It was all Samara’s fault.
Chaim’s grandfather, Eric, was furious. After they went back home, Eric asked Chaim to take Samara to the family memorial hall.
When Samara heard what Chaim said, she froze and she felt her body turn cold all over.
The memorial hall of the Humphrey family. She knew that place.
Anyone who sent there would be punished harshly. They either died or suffered serious
injuries.
She never expected that the Humphrey family would let Chaim take her to the memorial hall directly. They didn’t give her a chance to explain at all.
Samara looked at Chaim’s face as she was dragged by him. What a handsome face! Even his side face looked so good. But ever since she married him, he never treated her nicely
The high fever made her feel pain, yet no one cared.
Something happened to Serena. The Humphrey family and Chaim must hate her so
much.
“I can walk by myself,” Samara said coldly.
Chaim glanced at her. His dark eyes were filled with disgust and suppressed anger, and there was no hint of pity.
“Hurry up.”
He expressionlessly said, turned around, and quickly walked in the direction of the memorial hall.
