Chapter 165 You Don’t Like Me Anymore
Charley Hart didn’t believe a word of it. She immediately unlocked her phone and called Nathaniel Hart.
But the ringtone came from the dining room door.
Looking up, Charley saw Nathaniel, who should have been bedridden, walking in with a smug smile.
Her jaw dropped, and the fork in her hand fell straight down.
Charley stared at Nathaniel for a long time before raising her hand and pointing at him, shouting. “Ghost!”
Nathaniel’s face darkened instantly.
He walked over and tapped Charley on the head “I’m not dead, so don’t make it sound like I came back from the dead.”
Chapter unlocked!
“But… Nathaniel…” Charley rubbed her sore head, still in disbelief.
Nathaniel could actually…stand up!
“Nathaniel, how are you better? Weren’t you supposed to be paralyzed?”
Nathaniel rolled his eyes. He had always thought his sister wasn’t the brightest, but now she seemed downright clueless.
Ignoring Charley, he looked at Older Mr. Hart, who was clearly not pleased.
Older Mr. Hart chewed on a shrimp, making a show of it as if the shrimp were Nathaniel. “Didn’t want to come back, huh? So why are you here now?”
Nathaniel knew his grandpa was throwing a fit
He looked at Sofia Schneider, hoping she would help calm the old man down.
But Sofia just gave him an innocent smile and turned to the kitchen, leaving him to fend for himself.

Nathaniel sighed, feeling like the least favored person in the house.

Charley was still buzzing around him, chattering nonstop. He felt a headache coming on.
Charley circled Nathaniel, scrutinizing him from head to toe. “Nathaniel, tell me, what’s going on? How did you get better? You were paralyzed!”
Although their family had always sought out the best doctors, determined to cure Nathaniel, they all knew that recovering from a high–level spinal injury was nearly impossible without a medical miracle.
But now, Nathaniel was standing right in front of her.
Charley found it unbelievable!
Nathaniel, tired of her questions, placed a hand on her head and pushed her back into her chair. “Eat your food. Kids shouldn’t ask too many questions.”
He wasn’t ready to tell everyone that Sofia had healed him.
Even Older Mr. Hart still believed it was all Braylon Green’s doing.
Charley, although curious, was also a bit afraid of Nathaniel.
When he told her to sit down, she didn’t dare stand.
When he told her to be quiet, she didn’t dare make a sound.
But her eyes stayed glued to Nathaniel, full of questions.
She was really curious. If she didn’t find out the answer, she felt like she might die.
Sofia came back from the kitchen with plates and set Nathaniel’s next to Older Mr. Hart. She then sat down next to Charley.
Normally, Charley would have been furious and kicked Sofia out of her spot.
But now, Charley’s eyes were glued to Nathaniel, barely noticing Sofia.
Seeing Nathaniel sit next to Older Mr. Hart as if he had never been paralyzed was a shock.
But no one explained anything to her.

She felt left out and no longer the family’s little darling.
Charley pouted, angrily stabbing a piece of beef with her fork and biting into it.
Sofia prepared a plate for Nathaniel and placed it in front of him.
But Older Mr. Hart immediately took it away.
“No food for you. We didn’t prepare anything for you,” he said haughtily, passing a drumstick to Sofia. “Sofia, this is for you
you..
Sofia thanked him with a smile and started eating the drumstick.
Nathaniel looked at her helplessly, feeling abandoned.
“Grandpa, you missed me, didn’t you? I came back, and now you don’t like me anymore?” Nathaniel asked.
He hadn’t even been here for three minutes and was already being disliked by his grandpa.
“You’re talking nonsense. I never missed you,” Older Mr. Hart replied.
Nathaniel was exasperated. How could his grandpa be so hard to appease?
Older Mr. Hart was proud and stubborn. He had gone to visit Nathaniel, but Nathaniel hadn’t shown any appreciation, even dumping all his frustrations on him.
Now Nathaniel wanted to mend fences? Too late!
He wasn’t about to accept affection that was only given when asked for.
Sofia, eating and stifling her laughter, wasn’t going to help Nathaniel out of this one. Let him deal with the mess he created.
Nathaniel saw Sofia’s barely suppressed smile and felt even more frustrated.
With his wife and grandpa united against him, his only hope seemed to be Charley. He glanced at her but quickly decided against it.
Realizing he had to handle this himself, Nathaniel decided to sweet–talk his grandpa.
Just as he was about to speak, a voice from behind said, “What’s all the commotion here?”
