Chapter 164 How Childish
Nathaniel Hart found his grandpa’s words both amusing and helpless.
He couldn’t understand why his grandpa seemed to think he was always bullying his wife.
After a while, Older Mr. Hart decided to head back.
Once he was gone, Sofia Schneider turned to Nathaniel and said, “Mr. Hart, being so blunt. about not wanting to go back will make Grandpa really sad.”
Having been deprived of familial affection, Sofia cherished the rare bond she had found with Older Mr. Hart.
Seeing her concern for his grandpa, Nathaniel smiled and asked, “Do you want to go back, Sofia? If you do, we can go back together.”
Sofia frowned slightly, finding Nathaniel’s way of tossing the question back to her a bit… annoying.

She said, “I’ll do whatever Mr. Hart wants.”
She played the role of an obedient wife perfectly.
Nathaniel’s smile grew wider, and there was a glint in his eyes.
“Alright then, if Sofia wants to go back, let’s do it. It’ll be fun.”
Sofia was puzzled by his behavior but said, “Wait a minute, I need to pack some things.”
The items she used for Nathaniel’s post–surgery recovery were here, and she needed to take them back.
Nathaniel followed Sofia, watching her bustle around. His heart warmed at the sight.
It reminded him of a wife packing for her husband’s business trip, a touching image of domesticity.
Unable to resist, Nathaniel wrapped his arms around Sofia from behind.

Chapter 161 How Childish
“I was just teasing Grandpa. I didn’t mean to upset him,” he said.
Sofia looked up at him and said, “But you did make him sad.
“Then he’ll be thrilled when we go back,” Nathaniel said.
Sofia turned to face him, “Mr. Hart, you were really childish today.”
Though she understood the close and playful relationship between Nathaniel and his grandpa, she still believed some jokes could be hurtful.
Seeing Older Mr. Hart’s genuine sadness had pained her.
Nathaniel tightened his embrace, his tone serious, “Alright, we’ll do as you say.
Sofia blushed at his words, gently pushing him away, “Stop distracting me while I pack.”
Nathaniel chuckled and let go, leaning against the wall as he watched her continue packing.
He didn’t offer to help, knowing he’d probably just mess things up and make Sofia more frustrated.
Once Sofia finished packing, she said, “Let’s go.”
Nathaniel took her hand, asking. “Sofia, are you sure you want to go back just like this?”
Sofia understood his implication and nodded, “Since that person hasn’t shown up yet, we might as well return openly and see if it provokes them.”
Nathaniel asked, “Sofia, if they react badly and try to harm me, what then?”
Sofia paused before answering firmly, “I’ll protect you.”
Nathaniel’s smile grew even more content.
He pinched her cheek gently. “From now on, I’ll be the one protecting you.”
Sofia’s eyes glistened, knowing Nathaniel’s strength well.
She nodded, “Alright, I’ll rely on Mr. Hart from now on.”

When they returned to Hart’s old residence, Older Mr. Hart and Charley Hart were having dinner.
Charley was poking at her food, glaring at her grandpa, “Grandpa, where have you hidden Nathaniel? You won’t even let me visit him. What’s going on?”
Older Mr. Hart, still in a foul mood from Nathaniel’s earlier antics, replied, “Nathaniel is fine and happy. Stop worrying about him. He doesn’t miss you anyway.”
Even his grandson didn’t think about him, so how could he think about this troublemaker of a granddaughter?
Hearing this, Charley’s face scrunched up in indignation. “Grandpa, that’s not true! Nathaniel isn’t like that. You’re being unfair!”
Older Mr. Hart sighed, “If you don’t believe me, call him yourself and see if he answers.
Unlike his two grandsons who understood Nathaniel needed space, Charley was constantly around, hoping to figure out the mystery.
