Chapter 81: Two Tickets
Julian had put in a lot of effort to find out where Chloe was. But he never imagined that Daniel had arrived early, which was the ultimate purpose of his delay.
He worried that once he met Chloe, she might soften and return to him. That’s why he had used this tactic to buy himself a bit more time.
The time he wasted was enough for him to appear in front of Chloe and express his feelings for her.
Julian knew Chloe very well.
Her personality was gentle; if Daniel showed her kindness, she might genuinely be moved.
Thinking of this made him uncomfortable. Chloe was his, so why did she have to get involved with Daniel? The more he thought about it, the angrier he became, especially when he saw
comments online.
“See? With all these company issues, they’re not even at the beach. Is this a romantic getaway
or what?”
“Wow, is that Chloe’s silhouette in the photo? Who are you really going for?”
Seeing these comments, Julian looked at the photo again.
Sure enough, he saw Layla’s figure in the picture. She was wearing a very modest swimsuit,
which eased his mind a little.
He knew Chloe had a great figure, but he didn’t like her showing it off in front of so many people, and fortunately, Chloe wasn’t that fond of it either.
However, seeing Chloe’s image in Daniel’s photo made him uncomfortable. Why should Daniel get to appear in front of her first?
The more he thought about it, the angrier he got. Eventually, he couldn’t stand looking at his phone anymore and just turned it off.
Julian took a deep breath, trying to calm down. He reminded himself not to let this minor issue irritate him. If he continued like this, wouldn’t he be fulfilling Daniel’s wishes?
At that moment, the announcement finally came that it was time to check in. He stood up with his belongings, ready to leave, but as soon as he walked out, he saw Layla.
Layla was carrying a suitcase, looking happily at Julian. She had been very excited when she received the news that morning and rushed over as soon as she packed.
She thought Julian hadn’t wanted to see her because he was busy with work, not realizing he was deliberately delaying to bring her on this trip.

At that moment, she looked utterly happy and content.
“Honestly, why couldn’t you just tell me in advance about the surprise? If I didn’t know and didn’t make it here, or didn’t see the message, it would ruin your surprise! When I mentioned going on a trip, I didn’t expect you to arrange everything so quickly!”
Seeing Layla’s surprised expression, Julian found himself at a loss for words. He hadn’t expected her to show up.
But he couldn’t explain that he had come to find Chloe, so after a long silence, he said nothing.
When he had asked his assistant to book tickets, he had clearly only requested one ticket for himself. How had Layla ended up coming along?
If Chloe found out he had brought Layla, she would definitely be furious and wouldn’t give him any chances.
“I heard the beach there is beautiful, and it’s a recently developed tourist spot, so there shouldn’t be too many people. I can’t believe you’re so thoughtful! I’ve prepared quite a few things for this trip. We have to take tons of photos!”
Layla was still lost in her excitement, not noticing that Julian’s expression was a bit off. Julian silently listened to her, even though they had started checking in and boarding was still a while away. He half–heartedly replied.
“You go ahead and check in. I need to use the restroom.”
After saying this, he headed straight for the restroom without looking back at her.
Whether Layla checked in or not was her concern; it had nothing to do with him.
Julian quickly found a place to sit down and began calling his assistant. After all these years of working together, how could his assistant make such a stupid mistake?
Meanwhile, the assistant had not expected to suddenly receive a call from Wyatt. Wasn’t he supposed to be busy boarding the plane?
Or was he already on the plane? How could someone on the plane be calling him?
“Boss, why are you calling me out of the blue?”
“What were you thinking? I asked you to book a flight for me, not to bring Layla along! I’m going to find Chloe; don’t you understand? What’s wrong with you? Are you trying to show
off?”
Listening to Julian vent, the assistant was stunned. He hadn’t expected such a simple task would lead to such a mistake.
He realized he should have checked things more thoroughly to prevent this from happening.
The more he thought about it, the more anxious he became. He never expected an intern

would make such a huge mistake.
Suddenly, he remembered that the intern had also called him earlier, but he had been busy assigning tasks and hadn’t answered.
If he had known this would happen, he would have picked up that call.
“I’m sorry, boss. I didn’t check this properly. I passed it on without verifying, and I truly apologize.”

The assistant quickly apologized to Julian. No matter what, it was indeed his fault, and it was no wonder Julian was so upset.
Julian’s expression softened a bit, but thinking about going to see Chloe with Layla made him uneasy.
He had intended to win Chloe back alone. Bringing someone else along felt wrong.
If Chloe found out, she would definitely ignore him.
Forget it; he would wait until they arrived and then find a way to send Layla away. He couldn’t let this interfere with his plans.
With that thought, he felt he had a bit of a solution. If Chloe found out, this situation would not be easy to resolve.
Now that things had reached this point, it was already a mistake. He could only correct it in time; he couldn’t let it continue like this.
