Chapter 17
frank’s breathing was irregular, but he forced himself to stay calm. “Lea, there was something off with the wine.”
Upon hearing this, Lea was speechless. This wasn’t the time to talk about wine!
She swallowed and felt the burning sensation trailed down her throat. Narrowing her eyes, she whispered, “Frank, I don’t feel good. Help me, please.”
However, he looked down at her from above, his eyes flashing with an unreadable emotion.
His lips pressed into a thin line as he asked, “Lea, did you plan for me to come here tonight?”
Lea’s face instantly turned pale, and her body froze. “Frank, what are you saying?”
Frank took a deep breath. He didn’t understand himself right now. All he knew was that ever since Emma left, there had been an agonizing emptiness in his chest.
He averted his gaze and stood up, picking up the scattered clothes from the floor and then handing them to her.
But she refused to give up. She ran over and wrapped her arms around him from behind. “Since we love each other, isn’t it normal to do this?”
“Lea, we haven’t even defined our relationship yet. You don’t have to force me into this with drugs, do you understand?”
“What’s wrong with you, Frank? You’ve been avoiding me for days. Is this all because of Emma?”
Frank lifted his gaze to look at her before saying calmly, “I’ll get a doctor.”
A doctor came shortly after, and Lea was forced to take an antidote. But he didn’t glance at her again. He only told her to take care of herself before leaving.
Lea almost spiraled into madness after being left alone in the room.

In the next couple of days, Frank directed the company to revoke many of the privileges Lea had once enjoyed. She was now treated the same as any other celebrity.
With her privileges revoked, she encountered much hostility and cold treatment on set.
Kate couldn’t help but ask, “Lea, what happened between you and Mr. Castro? Why did he suddenly revoke so many of your privileges?”
Lea’s expression was dark and stormy. She never expected that a mere Emma could have such a devastating impact. That woman had actually made Frank turn his back on her! With so many of her privileges revoked, her career had taken a heavy hit.
Even several previously secured collaborations were now in jeopardy as companies hesitated because they were worried about offending Castro Group by working with her.
Lea was furious, but there was nothing she could do. The only option left was to lower her pride and seek out Frank.
When she arrived at Castro Group, even the assistants at the CEO’s office no longer greeted her with the same enthusiasm as before.
The difference in treatment was unbearable. Lea’s voice turned sharp as she asked, “Are you all blind?”
Only then did a secretary rise to acknowledge her. “Oh, Ms. Davila, you’re here. Mr. Castro is currently busy.”
“So what if he’s busy? That doesn’t mean I can’t go in. You know my relationship with Frank, don’t you?”
Without waiting for an answer, she pushed open the office door. Frank was on a call. When he spotted her, he frowned slightly.
